The priestly handbook of sacrifice and holiness

The third book of the Torah, devoted almost entirely to ritual law: sacrificial procedure, dietary rules, purity codes, and the holiness regulations governing priestly conduct. It reads as the operational manual of the Tabernacle cultus.

第1章

主はモーセを呼び、会見の幕屋からこれに告げて言われた、

And Jehovah called unto Moses, and spake unto him out of the tent of meeting, saying,

「イスラエルの人々に言いなさい、『あなたがたのうちだれでも家畜の供え物を主にささげるときは、牛または羊を供え物としてささげなければならない。

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When any man of you offereth an oblation unto Jehovah, ye shall offer your oblation of the cattle, [even] of the herd and of the flock.

もしその供え物が牛の燔祭であるならば、雄牛の全きものをささげなければならない。会見の幕屋の入口で、主の前に受け入れられるように、これをささげなければならない。

If his oblation be a burnt-offering of the herd, he shall offer it a male without blemish: he shall offer it at the door of the tent of meeting, that he may be accepted before Jehovah.

彼はその燔祭の獣の頭に手を置かなければならない。そうすれば受け入れられて、彼のためにあがないとなるであろう。

And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the burnt-offering; and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him.

彼は主の前でその子牛をほふり、アロンの子なる祭司たちは、その血を携えてきて、会見の幕屋の入口にある祭壇の周囲に、その血を注ぎかけなければならない。

And he shall kill the bullock before Jehovah: and Aaron`s sons, the priests, shall present the blood, and sprinkle the blood round about upon the altar that is at the door of the tent of meeting.

彼はまたその燔祭の獣の皮をはぎ、節々に切り分かたなければならない。

And he shall flay the burnt-offering, and cut it into its pieces.

祭司アロンの子たちは祭壇の上に火を置き、その火の上にたきぎを並べ、

And the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire upon the altar, and lay wood in order upon the fire;

アロンの子なる祭司たちはその切り分けたものを、頭および脂肪と共に、祭壇の上にある火の上のたきぎの上に並べなければならない。

and Aaron`s sons, the priests, shall lay the pieces, the head, and the fat, in order upon the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar:

その内臓と足とは水で洗わなければならない。こうして祭司はそのすべてを祭壇の上で焼いて燔祭としなければならない。これは火祭であって、主にささげる香ばしいかおりである。

but its inwards and its legs shall he wash with water: and the priest shall burn the whole on the altar, for a burnt-offering, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto Jehovah.

もしその燔祭の供え物が群れの羊または、やぎであるならば、雄の全きものをささげなければならない。

And if his oblation be of the flock, of the sheep, or of the goats, for a burnt-offering; he shall offer it a male without blemish.

彼は祭壇の北側で、主の前にこれをほふり、アロンの子なる祭司たちは、その血を祭壇の周囲に注ぎかけなければならない。

And he shall kill it on the side of the altar northward before Jehovah: and Aaron`s sons, the priests, shall sprinkle its blood upon the altar round about.

彼はまたこれを節々に切り分かち、祭司はこれを頭および脂肪と共に、祭壇の上にある火の上のたきぎの上に並べなければならない。

And he shall cut it into its pieces, with its head and its fat; and the priest shall lay them in order on the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar:

but the inwards and the legs shall he wash with water; and the priest shall offer the whole, and burn it upon the altar: it is a burnt-offering, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto Jehovah.

もし主にささげる供え物が、鳥の燔祭であるならば、山ばと、または家ばとのひなを、その供え物としてささげなければならない。

And if his oblation to Jehovah be a burnt-offering of birds, then he shall offer his oblation of turtle-doves, or of young pigeons.

祭司はこれを祭壇に携えて行き、その首を摘み破り、祭壇の上で焼かなければならない。その血は絞り出して祭壇の側面に塗らなければならない。

And the priest shall bring it unto the altar, and wring off its head, and burn it on the altar; and the blood thereof shall be drained out on the side of the altar;

またその餌袋は羽と共に除いて、祭壇の東の方にある灰捨場に捨てなければならない。

and he shall take away its crop with the filth thereof, and cast it beside the altar on the east part, in the place of the ashes:

これは、その翼を握って裂かなければならない。ただし引き離してはならない。祭司はこれを祭壇の上で、火の上のたきぎの上で燔祭として焼かなければならない。これは火祭であって、主にささげる香ばしいかおりである。

and he shall rend it by the wings thereof, [but] shall not divide it asunder; and the priest shall burn it upon the altar, upon the wood that is upon the fire: it is a burnt-offering, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto Jehovah.

第2章

人が素祭の供え物を主にささげるときは、その供え物は麦粉でなければならない。その上に油を注ぎ、またその上に乳香を添え、

And when any one offereth an oblation of a meal-offering unto Jehovah, his oblation shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense thereon:

これをアロンの子なる祭司たちのもとに携えて行かなければならない。祭司はその麦粉とその油の一握りを乳香の全部と共に取り、これを記念の分として、祭壇の上で焼かなければならない。これは火祭であって、主にささげる香ばしいかおりである。

and he shall bring it to Aaron`s sons the priests; and he shall take thereout his handful of the fine flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof; and the priest shall burn [it as] the memorial thereof upon the altar, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto Jehovah:

素祭の残りはアロンとその子らのものになる。これは主の火祭のいと聖なる物である。

and that which is left of the meal-offering shall be Aaron`s and his sons`: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of Jehovah made by fire.

あなたが、もし天火で焼いたものを素祭としてささげるならば、それは麦粉に油を混ぜて作った種入れぬ菓子、または油を塗った種入れぬ煎餅でなければならない。

And when thou offerest an oblation of a meal-offering baken in the oven, it shall be unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil.

あなたの供え物が、もし、平鍋で焼いた素祭であるならば、それは麦粉に油を混ぜて作った種入れぬものでなければならない。

And if thy oblation be a meal-offering of the baking-pan, it shall be of fine flour unleavened, mingled with oil.

あなたはそれを細かく砕き、その上に油を注がなければならない。これは素祭である。

Thou shalt part it in pieces, and pour oil thereon: it is a meal-offering.

あなたの供え物が、もし深鍋で煮た素祭であるならば、麦粉に油を混ぜて作らなければならない。

And if thy oblation be a meal-offering of the frying-pan, it shall be made of fine flour with oil.

あなたはこれらの物で作った素祭を、主に携えて行かなければならない。それを祭司に渡すならば、祭司はそれを祭壇に携えて行き、

And thou shalt bring the meal-offering that is made of these things unto Jehovah: and it shall be presented unto the priest, and he shall bring it unto the altar.

その素祭のうちから記念の分を取って、祭壇の上で焼かなければならない。これは火祭であって、主にささげる香ばしいかおりである。

And the priest shall take up from the meal-offering the memorial thereof, and shall burn it upon the altar, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto Jehovah.

素祭の残りはアロンとその子らのものになる。これは、主の火祭のいと聖なる物である。

And that which is left of the meal-offering shall be Aaron`s and his sons`: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of Jehovah made by fire.

あなたがたが主にささげる素祭は、すべて種を入れて作ってはならない。パン種も蜜も、すべて主にささげる火祭として焼いてはならないからである。

No meal-offering, which ye shall offer unto Jehovah, shall be made with leaven; for ye shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, as an offering made by fire unto Jehovah.

ただし、初穂の供え物としては、これらを主にささげることができる。しかし香ばしいかおりとして祭壇にささげてはならない。

As an oblation of first -[fruits] ye shall offer them unto Jehovah: but they shall not come up for a sweet savor on the altar.

あなたの素祭の供え物は、すべて塩をもって味をつけなければならない。あなたの素祭に、あなたの神の契約の塩を欠いてはならない。すべて、あなたの供え物は、塩を添えてささげなければならない。

And every oblation of thy meal-offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meal-offering: with all thine oblations thou shalt offer salt.

もしあなたが初穂の素祭を主にささげるならば、火で穂を焼いたもの、新穀の砕いたものを、あなたの初穂の素祭としてささげなければならない。

And if thou offer a meal-offering of first-fruits unto Jehovah, thou shalt offer for the meal-offering of thy first-fruits grain in the ear parched with fire, bruised grain of the fresh ear.

あなたはそれに油を加え、その上に乳香を置かなければならない。これは素祭である。

And thou shalt put oil upon it, and lay frankincense thereon: it is a meal-offering.

祭司は、その砕いた物およびその油のうちから記念の分を取って、乳香の全部と共に焼かなければならない。これは主にささげる火祭である。

And the priest shall burn the memorial of it, part of the bruised grain thereof, and part of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof: it is an offering made by fire unto Jehovah.

第3章

もし彼の供え物が酬恩祭の犠牲であって、牛をささげるのであれば、雌雄いずれであっても、全きものを主の前にささげなければならない。

And if his oblation be a sacrifice of peace-offerings; if he offer of the herd, whether male or female, he shall offer it without blemish before Jehovah.

彼はその供え物の頭に手を置き、会見の幕屋の入口で、これをほふらなければならない。そしてアロンの子なる祭司たちは、その血を祭壇の周囲に注ぎかけなければならない。

And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his oblation, and kill it at the door of the tent of meeting: and Aaron`s sons the priests shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.

彼はまたその酬恩祭の犠牲のうちから火祭を主にささげなければならない。すなわち内臓をおおう脂肪と、内臓の上のすべての脂肪、

And he shall offer of the sacrifice of peace-offerings an offering made by fire unto Jehovah; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,

二つの腎臓とその上の腰のあたりにある脂肪、ならびに腎臓と共にとられる肝臓の上の小葉である。

and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the loins, and the caul upon the liver, with the kidneys, shall he take away.

そしてアロンの子たちは祭壇の上で、火の上のたきぎの上に置いた燔祭の上で、これを焼かなければならない。これは火祭であって、主にささげる香ばしいかおりである。

And Aaron`s sons shall burn it on the altar upon the burnt-offering, which is upon the wood that is on the fire: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto Jehovah.

もし彼の供え物が主にささげる酬恩祭の犠牲で、それが羊であるならば、雌雄いずれであっても、全きものをささげなければならない。

And if his oblation for a sacrifice of peace-offerings unto Jehovah be of the flock; male or female, he shall offer it without blemish.

もし小羊を供え物としてささげるならば、それを主の前に連れてきて、

If he offer a lamb for his oblation, then shall he offer it before Jehovah;

その供え物の頭に手を置き、それを会見の幕屋の前で、ほふらなければならない。そしてアロンの子たちはその血を祭壇の周囲に注ぎかけなければならない。

and he shall lay his hand upon the head of his oblation, and kill it before the tent of meeting: and Aaron`s sons shall sprinkle the blood thereof upon the altar round about.

彼はその酬恩祭の犠牲のうちから、火祭を主にささげなければならない。すなわちその脂肪、背骨に接して切り取る脂尾の全部、内臓をおおう脂肪と内臓の上のすべての脂肪、

And he shall offer of the sacrifice of peace-offerings an offering made by fire unto Jehovah; the fat thereof, the fat tail entire, he shall take away hard by the backbone; and the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,

二つの腎臓とその上の腰のあたりにある脂肪、ならびに腎臓と共に取られる肝臓の上の小葉である。

and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the loins, and the caul upon the liver, with the kidneys, shall he take away.

祭司はこれを祭壇の上で焼かなければならない。これは火祭であって、主にささげる食物である。

And the priest shall burn it upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire unto Jehovah.

もし彼の供え物が、やぎであるならば、それを主の前に連れてきて、

And if his oblation be a goat, then he shall offer it before Jehovah:

その頭に手を置き、それを会見の幕屋の前で、ほふらなければならない。そしてアロンの子たちは、その血を祭壇の周囲に注ぎかけなければならない。

and he shall lay his hand upon the head of it, and kill it before the tent of meeting; and the sons of Aaron shall sprinkle the blood thereof upon the altar round about.

彼はまたそのうちから供え物を取り、火祭として主にささげなければならない。すなわち内臓をおおう脂肪と内臓の上のすべての脂肪、

And he shall offer thereof his oblation, [even] an offering made by fire unto Jehovah; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,

二つの腎臓とその上の腰のあたりにある脂肪、ならびに腎臓と共に取られる肝臓の上の小葉である。

and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the loins, and the caul upon the liver, with the kidneys, shall he take away.

祭司はこれを祭壇の上で焼かなければならない。これは火祭としてささげる食物であって、香ばしいかおりである。脂肪はみな主に帰すべきものである。

And the priest shall burn them upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire, for a sweet savor; all the fat is Jehovah`s.

あなたがたは脂肪と血とをいっさい食べてはならない。これはあなたがたが、すべてその住む所で、代々守るべき永久の定めである』」。

It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwellings, that ye shall eat neither fat nor blood.

第4章

主はまたモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「イスラエルの人々に言いなさい、『もし人があやまって罪を犯し、主のいましめにそむいて、してはならないことの一つをした時は次のようにしなければならない。

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If any one shall sin unwittingly, in any of the things which Jehovah hath commanded not to be done, and shall do any one of them:

すなわち、油注がれた祭司が罪を犯して、とがを民に及ぼすならば、彼はその犯した罪のために雄の全き子牛を罪祭として主にささげなければならない。

if the anointed priest shall sin so as to bring guilt on the people, then let him offer for his sin, which he hath sinned, a young bullock without blemish unto Jehovah for a sin-offering.

その子牛を会見の幕屋の入口に連れてきて主の前に至り、その子牛の頭に手を置き、その子牛を主の前で、ほふらなければならない。

And he shall bring the bullock unto the door of the tent of meeting before Jehovah; and he shall lay his hand upon the head of the bullock, and kill the bullock before Jehovah.

油注がれた祭司は、その子牛の血を取って、それを会見の幕屋に携え入り、

And the anointed priest shall take of the blood of the bullock, and bring it to the tent of meeting:

そして祭司は指をその血に浸して、聖所の垂幕の前で主の前にその血を七たび注がなければならない。

and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before Jehovah, before the veil of the sanctuary.

祭司はまたその血を取り、主の前で会見の幕屋の中にある香ばしい薫香の祭壇の角に、それを塗らなければならない。その子牛の血の残りはことごとく会見の幕屋の入口にある燔祭の祭壇のもとに注がなければならない。

And the priest shall put of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense before Jehovah, which is in the tent of meeting; and all the blood of the bullock shall he pour out at the base of the altar of burnt-offering, which is at the door of the tent of meeting.

またその罪祭の子牛から、すべての脂肪を取らなければならない。すなわち内臓をおおう脂肪と内臓の上のすべての脂肪、

And all the fat of the bullock of the sin-offering he shall take off from it; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,

二つの腎臓とその上の腰のあたりにある脂肪、ならびに腎臓と共に取られる肝臓の上の小葉である。

and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the loins, and the caul upon the liver, with the kidneys, shall he take away,

これを取るには酬恩祭の犠牲の雄牛から取るのと同じようにしなければならない。そして祭司はそれを燔祭の祭壇の上で焼かなければならない。

as it is taken off from the ox of the sacrifice of peace-offerings: and the priest shall burn them upon the altar of burnt-offering.

その子牛の皮とそのすべての肉、およびその頭と足と内臓と汚物など、

And the skin of the bullock, and all its flesh, with its head, and with its legs, and its inwards, and its dung,

すべてその子牛の残りは、これを宿営の外の、清い場所なる灰捨場に携え出し、火をもってこれをたきぎの上で焼き捨てなければならない。すなわちこれは灰捨場で焼き捨てらるべきである。

even the whole bullock shall he carry forth without the camp unto a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood with fire: where the ashes are poured out shall it be burnt.

もしイスラエルの全会衆があやまちを犯し、そのことが会衆の目に隠れていても、主のいましめにそむいて、してはならないことの一つをなして、とがを得たならば、

And if the whole congregation of Israel err, and the thing be hid from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done any of the things which Jehovah hath commanded not to be done, and are guilty;

その犯した罪が現れた時、会衆は雄の子牛を罪祭としてささげなければならない。すなわちそれを会見の幕屋の前に連れてきて、

when the sin wherein they have sinned is known, then the assembly shall offer a young bullock for a sin-offering, and bring it before the tent of meeting.

会衆の長老たちは、主の前でその子牛の頭に手を置き、その子牛を主の前で、ほふらなければならない。

And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands upon the head of the bullock before Jehovah; and the bullock shall be killed before Jehovah.

そして、油注がれた祭司は、その子牛の血を会見の幕屋に携え入り、

And the anointed priest shall bring of the blood of the bullock to the tent of meeting:

祭司は指をその血に浸し、垂幕の前で主の前に七たび注がなければならない。

and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle it seven times before Jehovah, before the veil.

またその血を取って、会見の幕屋の中の主の前にある祭壇の角に、それを塗らなければならない。その血の残りはことごとく会見の幕屋の入口にある燔祭の祭壇のもとに注がなければならない。

And he shall put of the blood upon the horns of the altar which is before Jehovah, that is in the tent of meeting; and all the blood shall he pour out at the base of the altar of burnt-offering, which is at the door of the tent of meeting.

またそのすべての脂肪を取って祭壇の上で焼かなければならない。

And all the fat thereof shall he take off from it, and burn it upon the altar.

すなわち祭司は罪祭の雄牛にしたように、この雄牛にも、しなければならない。こうして、祭司が彼らのためにあがないをするならば、彼らはゆるされるであろう。

Thus shall he do with the bullock; as he did with the bullock of the sin-offering, so shall he do with this; and the priest shall make atonement for them, and they shall be forgiven.

そして、彼はその雄牛を宿営の外に携え出し、はじめの雄牛を焼き捨てたように、これを焼き捨てなければならない。これは会衆の罪祭である。

And he shall carry forth the bullock without the camp, and burn it as he burned the first bullock: it is the sin-offering for the assembly.

またつかさたる者が罪を犯し、あやまって、その神、主のいましめにそむき、してはならないことの一つをして、とがを得、

When a ruler sinneth, and doeth unwittingly any one of all the things which Jehovah his God hath commanded not to be done, and is guilty;

もしその犯した罪を知るようになったときは、供え物として雄やぎの全きものを連れてきて、

if his sin, wherein he hath sinned, be made known to him, he shall bring for his oblation a goat, a male without blemish.

そのやぎの頭に手を置き、燔祭をほふる場所で、主の前にこれをほふらなければならない。これは罪祭である。

And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the goat, and kill it in the place where they kill the burnt-offering before Jehovah: it is a sin-offering.

祭司は指でその罪祭の血を取り、燔祭の祭壇の角にそれを塗り、残りの血は燔祭の祭壇のもとに注がなければならない。

And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin-offering with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt-offering; and the blood thereof shall he pour out at the base of the altar of burnt-offering.

また、そのすべての脂肪は、酬恩祭の犠牲の脂肪と同じように、祭壇の上で焼かなければならない。こうして、祭司が彼のためにその罪のあがないをするならば、彼はゆるされるであろう。

And all the fat thereof shall he burn upon the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of peace-offerings; and the priest shall make atonement for him as concerning his sin, and he shall be forgiven.

また一般の人がもしあやまって罪を犯し、主のいましめにそむいて、してはならないことの一つをして、とがを得、

And if any one of the common people sin unwittingly, in doing any of the things which Jehovah hath commanded not to be done, and be guilty;

その犯した罪を知るようになったときは、その犯した罪のために供え物として雌やぎの全きものを連れてきて、

if his sin, which he hath sinned, be made known to him, then he shall bring for his oblation a goat, a female without blemish, for his sin which he hath sinned.

その罪祭の頭に手を置き、燔祭をほふる場所で、その罪祭をほふらなければならない。

And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the sin-offering, and kill the sin-offering in the place of burnt-offering.

そして祭司は指でその血を取り、燔祭の祭壇の角にこれを塗り、残りの血をことごとく祭壇のもとに注がなければならない。

And the priest shall take of the blood thereof with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt-offering; and all the blood thereof shall he pour out at the base of the altar.

またそのすべての脂肪は酬恩祭の犠牲から脂肪を取るのと同じように取り、これを祭壇の上で焼いて主にささげる香ばしいかおりとしなければならない。こうして祭司が彼のためにあがないをするならば、彼はゆるされるであろう。

And all the fat thereof shall he take away, as the fat is taken away from off the sacrifice of peace-offerings; and the priest shall burn it upon the altar for a sweet savor unto Jehovah; and the priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be forgiven.

もし小羊を罪祭のために供え物として連れてくるならば、雌の全きものを連れてこなければならない。

And if he bring a lamb as his oblation for a sin-offering, he shall bring it a female without blemish.

その罪祭の頭に手を置き、燔祭をほふる場所で、これをほふり、罪祭としなければならない。

And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the sin-offering, and kill it for a sin-offering in the place where they kill the burnt-offering.

そして祭司は指でその罪祭の血を取り、燔祭の祭壇の角にそれを塗り、残りの血はことごとく祭壇のもとに注がなければならない。

And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin-offering with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt-offering; and all the blood thereof shall he pour out at the base of the altar:

またそのすべての脂肪は酬恩祭の犠牲から小羊の脂肪を取るのと同じように取り、祭司はこれを主にささげる火祭のように祭壇の上で焼かなければならない。こうして祭司が彼の犯した罪のためにあがないをするならば、彼はゆるされるであろう。

and all the fat thereof shall he take away, as the fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of peace-offerings; and the priest shall burn them on the altar, upon the offerings of Jehovah made by fire; and the priest shall make atonement for him as touching his sin that he hath sinned, and he shall be forgiven.

第5章

もし人が証人に立ち、誓いの声を聞きながら、その見たこと、知っていることを言わないで、罪を犯すならば、彼はそのとがを負わなければならない。

And if any one sin, in that he heareth the voice of adjuration, he being a witness, whether he hath seen or known, if he do not utter [it], then he shall bear his iniquity.

また、もし人が汚れた野獣の死体、汚れた家畜の死体、汚れた這うものの死体など、すべて汚れたものに触れるならば、そのことに気づかなくても、彼は汚れたものとなって、とがを得る。

Or if any one touch any unclean thing, whether it be the carcass of an unclean beast, or the carcass of unclean cattle, or the carcass of unclean creeping things, and it be hidden from him, and he be unclean, then he shall be guilty.

また、もし彼が人の汚れに触れるならば、その人の汚れが、どのような汚れであれ、それに気づかなくても、彼がこれを知るようになった時は、とがを得る。

Or if he touch the uncleanness of man, whatsoever his uncleanness be wherewith he is unclean, and it be hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty.

また、もし人がみだりにくちびるで誓い、悪をなそう、または善をなそうと言うならば、その人が誓ってみだりに言ったことは、それがどんなことであれ、それに気づかなくても、彼がこれを知るようになった時は、これらの一つについて、とがを得る。

Or if any one swear rashly with his lips to do evil, or to do good, whatsoever it be that a man shall utter rashly with an oath, and it be hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty in one of these [things].

もしこれらの一つについて、とがを得たときは、その罪を犯したことを告白し、

And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these [things], that he shall confess that wherein he hath sinned:

その犯した罪のために償いとして、雌の家畜、すなわち雌の小羊または雌やぎを主のもとに連れてきて、罪祭としなければならない。こうして祭司は彼のために罪のあがないをするであろう。

and he shall bring his trespass-offering unto Jehovah for his sin which he hath sinned, a female from the flock, a lamb or a goat, for a sin-offering; and the priest shall make atonement for him as concerning his sin.

もし小羊に手のとどかない時は、山ばと二羽か、家ばとのひな二羽かを、彼が犯した罪のために償いとして主に携えてきて、一羽を罪祭に、一羽を燔祭にしなければならない。

And if his means suffice not for a lamb, then he shall bring his trespass-offering for that wherein he hath sinned, two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, unto Jehovah; one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering.

すなわち、これらを祭司に携えてきて、祭司はその罪祭のものを先にささげなければならない。すなわち、その頭を首の根のところで、摘み破らなければならない。ただし、切り離してはならない。

And he shall bring them unto the priest, who shall offer that which is for the sin-offering first, and wring off its head from its neck, but shall not divide it asunder:

そしてその罪祭の血を祭壇の側面に注ぎ、残りの血は祭壇のもとに絞り出さなければならない。これは罪祭である。

and he shall sprinkle of the blood of the sin-offering upon the side of the altar; and the rest of the blood shall be drained out at the base of the altar: it is a sin-offering.

また第二のものは、定めにしたがって燔祭としなければならない。こうして、祭司が彼のためにその犯した罪のあがないをするならば、彼はゆるされるであろう。

And he shall offer the second for a burnt-offering, according to the ordinance; and the priest shall make atonement for him as concerning his sin which he hath sinned, and he shall be forgiven.

もし二羽の山ばとにも、二羽の家ばとのひなにも、手の届かないときは、彼の犯した罪のために、供え物として麦粉十分の一エパを携えてきて、これを罪祭としなければならない。ただし、その上に油をかけてはならない。またその上に乳香を添えてはならない。これは罪祭だからである。

But if his means suffice not for two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, then he shall bring his oblation for that wherein he hath sinned, the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin-offering: he shall put no oil upon it, neither shall he put any frankincense thereon; for it is a sin-offering.

彼はこれを祭司のもとに携えて行き、祭司は一握りを取って、記念の分とし、これを主にささげる火祭のように、祭壇の上で焼かなければならない。これは罪祭である。

And he shall bring it to the priest, and the priest shall take his handful of it as the memorial thereof, and burn it on the altar, upon the offerings of Jehovah made by fire: it is a sin-offering.

こうして、祭司が彼のため、すなわち、彼がこれらの一つを犯した罪のために、あがないをするならば、彼はゆるされるであろう。そしてその残りは素祭と同じく、祭司に帰するであろう』」。

And the priest shall make atonement for him as touching his sin that he hath sinned in any of these things, and he shall be forgiven: and [the remnant] shall be the priest`s, as the meal-offering.

主はまたモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「もし人が不正をなし、あやまって主の聖なる物について罪を犯したときは、その償いとして、あなたの値積りにしたがい、聖所のシケルで、銀数シケルに当る雄羊の全きものを、群れのうちから取り、それを主に携えてきて、愆祭としなければならない。

If any one commit a trespass, and sin unwittingly, in the holy things of Jehovah; then he shall bring his trespass-offering unto Jehovah, a ram without blemish out of the flock, according to thy estimation in silver by shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass-offering:

そしてその聖なる物について犯した罪のために償いをし、またその五分の一をこれに加えて、祭司に渡さなければならない。こうして祭司がその愆祭の雄羊をもって、彼のためにあがないをするならば、彼はゆるされるであろう。

and he shall make restitution for that which he hath done amiss in the holy thing, and shall add the fifth part thereto, and give it unto the priest; and the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass-offering, and he shall be forgiven.

また人がもし罪を犯し、主のいましめにそむいて、してはならないことの一つをしたときは、たといそれを知らなくても、彼は罪を得、そのとがを負わなければならない。

And if any one sin, and do any of the things which Jehovah hath commanded not to be done; though he knew it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.

彼はあなたの値積りにしたがって、雄羊の全きものを群れのうちから取り、愆祭としてこれを祭司のもとに携えてこなければならない。こうして、祭司が彼のために、すなわち彼が知らないで、しかもあやまって犯した過失のために、あがないをするならば、彼はゆるされるであろう。

And he shall bring a ram without blemish out of the flock, according to thy estimation, for a trespass-offering, unto the priest; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning the thing wherein he erred unwittingly and knew it not, and he shall be forgiven.

これは愆祭である。彼は確かに主の前にとがを得たからである」。

It is a trespass-offering: he is certainly guilty before Jehovah.

第6章

主はまたモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「もし人が罪を犯し、主に対して不正をなしたとき、すなわち預かり物、手にした質草、またはかすめた物について、その隣人を欺き、あるいはその隣人をしえたげ、

If any one sin, and commit a trespass against Jehovah, and deal falsely with his neighbor in a matter of deposit, or of bargain, or of robbery, or have oppressed his neighbor,

あるいは落し物を拾い、それについて欺き、偽って誓うなど、すべて人がそれをなして罪となることの一つについて、

or have found that which was lost, and deal falsely therein, and swear to a lie; in any of all these things that a man doeth, sinning therein;

罪を犯し、とがを得たならば、彼はそのかすめた物、しえたげて取った物、預かった物、拾った落し物、

then it shall be, if he hath sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took by robbery, or the thing which he hath gotten by oppression, or the deposit which was committed to him, or the lost thing which he found,

または偽り誓ったすべての物を返さなければならない。すなわち残りなく償い、更にその五分の一をこれに加え、彼が愆祭をささげる日に、これをその元の持ち主に渡さなければならない。

or any thing about which he hath sworn falsely; he shall even restore it in full, and shall add the fifth part more thereto: unto him to whom it appertaineth shall he give it, in the day of his being found guilty.

彼はその償いとして、あなたの値積りにしたがい、雄羊の全きものを、群れの中から取り、これを祭司のもとに携えてきて、愆祭として主にささげなければならない。

And he shall bring his trespass-offering unto Jehovah, a ram without blemish out of the flock, according to thy estimation, for a trespass-offering, unto the priest:

こうして、祭司が主の前で彼のためにあがないをするならば、彼はそのいずれを行ってとがを得てもゆるされるであろう」。

and the priest shall make atonement for him before Jehovah; and he shall be forgiven concerning whatsoever he doeth so as to be guilty thereby.

主はまたモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「アロンとその子たちに命じて言いなさい、『燔祭のおきては次のとおりである。燔祭は祭壇の炉の上に、朝まで夜もすがらあるようにし、そこに祭壇の火を燃え続かせなければならない。

Command Aaron and his sons, saying, This is the law of the burnt-offering: the burnt-offering shall be on the hearth upon the altar all night unto the morning; and the fire of the altar shall be kept burning thereon.

祭司は亜麻布の服を着、亜麻布のももひきを身につけ、祭壇の上で火に焼けた燔祭の灰を取って、これを祭壇のそばに置き、

And the priest shall put on his linen garment, and his linen breeches shall he put upon his flesh; and he shall take up the ashes whereto the fire hath consumed the burnt-offering on the altar, and he shall put them beside the altar.

その衣服を脱ぎ、ほかの衣服を着て、その灰を宿営の外の清い場所に携え出さなければならない。

And he shall put off his garments, and put on other garments, and carry forth the ashes without the camp unto a clean place.

祭壇の上の火は、そこに燃え続かせ、それを消してはならない。祭司は朝ごとに、たきぎをその上に燃やし、燔祭をその上に並べ、また酬恩祭の脂肪をその上で焼かなければならない。

And the fire upon the altar shall be kept burning thereon, it shall not go out; and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning: and he shall lay the burnt-offering in order upon it, and shall burn thereon the fat of the peace-offerings.

火は絶えず祭壇の上に燃え続かせ、これを消してはならない。

Fire shall be kept burning upon the altar continually; it shall not go out.

素祭のおきては次のとおりである。アロンの子たちはそれを祭壇の前で主の前にささげなければならない。

And this is the law of the meal-offering: the sons of Aaron shall offer it before Jehovah, before the altar.

すなわち素祭の麦粉一握りとその油を、素祭の上にある全部の乳香と共に取って、祭壇の上で焼き、香ばしいかおりとし、記念の分として主にささげなければならない。

And he shall take up therefrom his handful, of the fine flour of the meal-offering, and of the oil thereof, and all the frankincense which is upon the meal-offering, and shall burn it upon the altar for a sweet savor, as the memorial thereof, unto Jehovah.

その残りはアロンとその子たちが食べなければならない。すなわち、種を入れずに聖なる所で食べなければならない。会見の幕屋の庭でこれを食べなければならない。

And that which is left thereof shall Aaron and his sons eat: it shall be eaten without leaven in a holy place; in the court of the tent of meeting they shall eat it.

これは種を入れて焼いてはならない。わたしはこれをわたしの火祭のうちから彼らの分として与える。これは罪祭および愆祭と同様に、いと聖なるものである。

It shall not be baken with leaven. I have given it as their portion of my offerings made by fire; it is most holy, as the sin-offering, and as the trespass-offering.

アロンの子たちのうち、すべての男子はこれを食べることができる。これは主にささげる火祭のうちから、あなたがたが代々永久に受けるように定められた分である。すべてこれに触れるものは聖となるであろう』」。

Every male among the children of Aaron shall eat of it, as [his] portion for ever throughout your generations, from the offerings of Jehovah made by fire: whosoever toucheth them shall be holy.

主はまたモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「アロンとその子たちが、アロンの油注がれる日に、主にささぐべき供え物は次のとおりである。すなわち麦粉十分の一エパを、絶えずささげる素祭とし、半ばは朝に、半ばは夕にささげなければならない。

This is the oblation of Aaron and of his sons, which they shall offer unto Jehovah in the day when he is anointed: the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a meal-offering perpetually, half of it in the morning, and half thereof in the evening.

それは油をよく混ぜて平鍋で焼き、それを携えてきて、細かく砕いた素祭とし、香ばしいかおりとして、主にささげなければならない。

On a baking-pan it shall be made with oil; when it is soaked, thou shalt bring it in: in baken pieces shalt thou offer the meal-offering for a sweet savor unto Jehovah.

彼の子たちのうち、油注がれて彼についで祭司となる者は、これをささげなければならない。これは永久に主に帰する分として、全く焼きつくすべきものである。

And the anointed priest that shall be in his stead from among his sons shall offer it: by a statute for ever it shall be wholly burnt unto Jehovah.

すべて祭司の素祭は全く焼きつくすべきものであって、これを食べてはならない」。

And every meal-offering of the priest shall be wholly burnt: it shall not be eaten.

主はまたモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「アロンとその子たちに言いなさい、『罪祭のおきては次のとおりである。罪祭は燔祭をほふる場所で、主の前にほふらなければならない。これはいと聖なる物である。

Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, saying, This is the law of the sin-offering: in the place where the burnt-offering is killed shall the sin-offering be killed before Jehovah: it is most holy.

罪のためにこれをささげる祭司が、これを食べなければならない。すなわち会見の幕屋の庭の聖なる所で、これを食べなければならない。

The priest that offereth it for sin shall eat it: in a holy place shall it be eaten, in the court of the tent of meeting.

すべてその肉に触れる者は聖となるであろう。もしその血が衣服にかかったならば、そのかかったものは聖なる所で洗わなければならない。

Whatsoever shall touch the flesh thereof shall be holy; and when there is sprinkled of the blood thereof upon any garment, thou shalt wash that whereon it was sprinkled in a holy place.

またそれを煮た土の器は砕かなければならない。もし青銅の器で煮たのであれば、それはみがいて、水で洗わなければならない。

But the earthen vessel wherein it is boiled shall be broken; and if it be boiled in a brazen vessel, it shall be scoured, and rinsed in water.

祭司たちのうちのすべての男子は、これを食べることができる。これはいと聖なるものである。

Every male among the priests shall eat thereof: it is most holy.

しかし、その血を会見の幕屋に携えていって、聖所であがないに用いた罪祭は食べてはならない。これは火で焼き捨てなければならない。

And no sin-offering, whereof any of the blood is brought into the tent of meeting to make atonement in the holy place, shall be eaten: it shall be burnt with fire.

第7章

愆祭のおきては次のとおりである。それはいと聖なる物である。

And this is the law of the trespass-offering: it is most holy.

愆祭は燔祭をほふる場所でほふらなければならない。そして祭司はその血を祭壇の周囲に注ぎかけ、

In the place where they kill the burnt-offering shall they kill the trespass-offering; and the blood thereof shall he sprinkle upon the altar round about.

そのすべての脂肪をささげなければならない。すなわち脂尾、内臓をおおう脂肪、

And he shall offer of it all the fat thereof: the fat tail, and the fat that covereth the inwards,

二つの腎臓とその上の腰のあたりにある脂肪、腎臓と共に取られる肝臓の上の小葉である。

and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the loins, and the caul upon the liver, with the kidneys, shall he take away;

祭司はこれを祭壇の上で焼いて、主に火祭としなければならない。これは愆祭である。

and the priest shall burn them upon the altar for an offering made by fire unto Jehovah: it is a trespass-offering.

祭司たちのうちのすべての男子は、これを食べることができる。これは聖なる所で食べなければならない。これはいと聖なる物である。

Every male among the priests shall eat thereof: it shall be eaten in a holy place: it is most holy.

罪祭も愆祭も、そのおきては一つであって、異なるところはない。これは、あがないをなす祭司に帰する。

As is the sin-offering, so is the trespass-offering; there is one law for them: the priest that maketh atonement therewith, he shall have it.

人が携えてくる燔祭をささげる祭司、その祭司に、そのささげる燔祭のものの皮は帰する。

And the priest that offereth any man`s burnt-offering, even the priest shall have to himself the skin of the burnt-offering which he hath offered.

すべて天火で焼いた素祭、またすべて深鍋または平鍋で作ったものは、これをささげる祭司に帰する。

And every meal-offering that is baken in the oven, and all that is dressed in the frying-pan, and on the baking-pan, shall be the priest`s that offereth it.

すべて素祭は、油を混ぜたものも、かわいたものも、アロンのすべての子たちにひとしく帰する。

And every meal-offering, mingled with oil, or dry, shall all the sons of Aaron have, one as well as another.

主にささぐべき酬恩祭の犠牲のおきては次のとおりである。

And this is the law of the sacrifice of peace-offerings, which one shall offer unto Jehovah.

もしこれを感謝のためにささげるのであれば、油を混ぜた種入れぬ菓子と、油を塗った種入れぬ煎餅と、よく混ぜた麦粉に油を混ぜて作った菓子とを、感謝の犠牲に合わせてささげなければならない。

If he offer it for a thanksgiving, then he shall offer with the sacrifice of thanksgiving unleavened cakes mingled with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil, and cakes mingled with oil, of fine flour soaked.

また種を入れたパンの菓子をその感謝のための酬恩祭の犠牲に合わせ、供え物としてささげなければならない。

With cakes of leavened bread he shall offer his oblation with the sacrifice of his peace-offerings for thanksgiving.

すなわちこのすべての供え物のうちから、菓子一つずつを取って主にささげなければならない。これは酬恩祭の血を注ぎかける祭司に帰する。

And of it he shall offer one out of each oblation for a heave-offering unto Jehovah; it shall be the priest`s that sprinkleth the blood of the peace-offerings.

その感謝のための酬恩祭の犠牲の肉は、その供え物をささげた日のうちに食べなければならない。少しでも明くる朝まで残して置いてはならない。

And the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace-offerings for thanksgiving shall be eaten on the day of his oblation; he shall not leave any of it until the morning.

しかし、その供え物の犠牲がもし誓願の供え物、または自発の供え物であるならば、その犠牲をささげた日のうちにそれを食べ、その残りはまた明くる日に食べることができる。

But if the sacrifice of his oblation be a vow, or a freewill-offering, it shall be eaten on the day that he offereth his sacrifice; and on the morrow that which remaineth of it shall be eaten:

ただし、その犠牲の肉の残りは三日目には火で焼き捨てなければならない。

but that which remaineth of the flesh of the sacrifice on the third day shall be burnt with fire.

もしその酬恩祭の犠牲の肉を三日目に少しでも食べるならば、それは受け入れられず、また供え物と見なされず、かえって忌むべき物となるであろう。そしてそれを食べる者はとがを負わなければならない。

And if any of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace-offerings be eaten on the third day, it shall not be accepted, neither shall it be imputed unto him that offereth it: it shall be an abomination, and the soul that eateth of it shall bear his iniquity.

その肉がもし汚れた物に触れるならば、それを食べることなく、火で焼き捨てなければならない。犠牲の肉はすべて清い者がこれを食べることができる。

And the flesh that toucheth any unclean thing shall not be eaten; it shall be burnt with fire. And as for the flesh, every one that is clean shall eat thereof:

もし人がその身に汚れがあるのに、主にささげた酬恩祭の犠牲の肉を食べるならば、その人は民のうちから断たれるであろう。

but the soul that eateth of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace-offerings, that pertain unto Jehovah, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from his people.

また人がもしすべて汚れたもの、すなわち人の汚れ、あるいは汚れた獣、あるいは汚れた這うものに触れながら、主にささげた酬恩祭の犠牲の肉を食べるならば、その人は民のうちから断たれるであろう』」。

And when any one shall touch any unclean thing, the uncleanness of man, or an unclean beast, or any unclean abomination, and eat of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace-offerings, which pertain unto Jehovah, that soul shall be cut off from his people.

主はまたモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「イスラエルの人々に言いなさい、『あなたがたは、すべて牛、羊、やぎの脂肪を食べてはならない。

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Ye shall eat no fat, of ox, or sheep, or goat.

自然に死んだ獣の脂肪および裂き殺された獣の脂肪は、さまざまのことに使ってもよい。しかし、それは決して食べてはならない。

And the fat of that which dieth of itself, and the fat of that which is torn of beasts, may be used for any other service; but ye shall in no wise eat of it.

だれでも火祭として主にささげる獣の脂肪を食べるならば、これを食べる人は民のうちから断たれるであろう。

For whosoever eateth the fat of the beast, of which men offer an offering made by fire unto Jehovah, even the soul that eateth it shall be cut off from his people.

またあなたがたはすべてその住む所で、鳥にせよ、獣にせよ、すべてその血を食べてはならない。

And ye shall eat no manner of blood, whether it be of bird or of beast, in any of your dwellings.

だれでもすべて血を食べるならば、その人は民のうちから断たれるであろう』」。

Whosoever it be that eateth any blood, that soul shall be cut off from his people.

主はまたモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「イスラエルの人々に言いなさい、『酬恩祭の犠牲を主にささげる者は、その酬恩祭の犠牲のうちから、その供え物を主に携えてこなければならない。

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, He that offereth the sacrifice of his peace-offerings unto Jehovah shall bring his oblation unto Jehovah out of the sacrifice of his peace-offerings:

主の火祭は手ずからこれを携えてこなければならない。すなわちその脂肪と胸とを携えてきて、その胸を主の前に揺り動かして、揺祭としなければならない。

his own hands shall bring the offerings of Jehovah made by fire; the fat with the breast shall he bring, that the breast may be waved for a wave-offering before Jehovah.

そして祭司はその脂肪を祭壇の上で焼かなければならない。その胸はアロンとその子たちに帰する。

And the priest shall burn the fat upon the altar; but the breast shall be Aaron`s and his sons`.

あなたがたの酬恩祭の犠牲のうちから、その右のももを挙祭として、祭司に与えなければならない。

And the right thigh shall ye give unto the priest for a heave-offering out of the sacrifices of your peace-offerings.

アロンの子たちのうち、酬恩祭の血と脂肪とをささげる者は、その右のももを自分の分として、獲るであろう。

He among the sons of Aaron that offereth the blood of the peace-offerings, and the fat, shall have the right thigh for a portion.

わたしはイスラエルの人々の酬恩祭の犠牲のうちから、その揺祭の胸と挙祭のももを取って、祭司アロンとその子たちに与え、これをイスラエルの人々から永久に彼らの受くべき分とする。

For the wave-breast and the heave-thigh have I taken of the children of Israel out of the sacrifices of their peace-offerings, and have given them unto Aaron the priest and unto his sons as [their] portion for ever from the children of Israel.

これは主の火祭のうちから、アロンの受ける分と、その子たちの受ける分とであって、祭司の職をなすため、彼らが主にささげられた日に定められたのである。

This is the anointing-portion of Aaron, and the anointing-portion of his sons, out of the offerings of Jehovah made by fire, in the day when he presented them to minister unto Jehovah in the priest`s office;

すなわち、これは彼らに油を注ぐ日に、イスラエルの人々が彼らに与えるように、主が命じられたものであって、代々永久に受くべき分である』」。

which Jehovah commanded to be given them of the children of Israel, in the day that he anointed them. It is [their] portion for ever throughout their generations.

これは燔祭、素祭、罪祭、愆祭、任職祭、酬恩祭の犠牲のおきてである。

This is the law of the burnt-offering, of the meal-offering, and of the sin-offering, and of the trespass-offering, and of the consecration, and of the sacrifice of peace-offerings;

すなわち、主がシナイの荒野においてイスラエルの人々にその供え物を主にささげることを命じられた日に、シナイ山でモーセに命じられたものである。

which Jehovah commanded Moses in mount Sinai, in the day that he commanded the children of Israel to offer their oblations unto Jehovah, in the wilderness of Sinai.

第8章

主はまたモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「あなたはアロンとその子たち、およびその衣服、注ぎ油、罪祭の雄牛、雄羊二頭、種入れぬパン一かごを取り、

Take Aaron and his sons with him, and the garments, and the anointing oil, and the bullock of the sin-offering, and the two rams, and the basket of unleavened bread;

また全会衆を会見の幕屋の入口に集めなさい」。

and assemble thou all the congregation at the door of the tent of meeting.

モーセは主が命じられたようにした。そして会衆は会見の幕屋の入口に集まった。

And Moses did as Jehovah commanded him; and the congregation was assembled at the door of the tent of meeting.

そこでモーセは会衆にむかって言った、「これは主があなたがたにせよと命じられたことである」。

And Moses said unto the congregation, This is the thing which Jehovah hath commanded to be done.

そしてモーセはアロンとその子たちを連れてきて、水で彼らを洗い清め、

And Moses brought Aaron and his sons, and washed them with water.

アロンに服を着させ、帯をしめさせ、衣をまとわせ、エポデを着けさせ、エポデの帯をしめさせ、それをもってエポデを身に結いつけ、

And he put upon him the coat, and girded him with the girdle, and clothed him with the robe, and put the ephod upon him, and he girded him with the skilfully woven band of the ephod, and bound it unto him therewith.

また胸当を着けさせ、その胸当にウリムとトンミムを入れ、

And he placed the breastplate upon him: and in the breastplate he put the Urim and the Thummim.

その頭に帽子をかぶらせ、その帽子の前に金の板、すなわち聖なる冠をつけさせた。主がモーセに命じられたとおりである。

And he set the mitre upon his head; and upon the mitre, in front, did he set the golden plate, the holy crown; as Jehovah commanded Moses.

モーセはまた注ぎ油を取り、幕屋とそのうちのすべての物に油を注いでこれを聖別し、

And Moses took the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle and all that was therein, and sanctified them.

かつ、それを七たび祭壇に注ぎ、祭壇とそのもろもろの器、洗盤とその台に油を注いでこれを聖別し、

And he sprinkled thereof upon the altar seven times, and anointed the altar and all its vessels, and the laver and its base, to sanctify them.

また注ぎ油をアロンの頭に注ぎ、彼に油を注いでこれを聖別した。

And he poured of the anointing oil upon Aaron`s head, and anointed him, to sanctify him.

モーセはまたアロンの子たちを連れてきて、服を彼らに着させ、帯を彼らにしめさせ、頭巾を頭に巻かせた。主がモーセに命じられたとおりである。

And Moses brought Aaron`s sons, and clothed them with coats, and girded them with girdles, and bound head-tires upon them; as Jehovah commanded Moses.

彼はまた罪祭の雄牛を連れてこさせ、アロンとその子たちは、その罪祭の雄牛の頭に手を置いた。

And he brought the bullock of the sin-offering: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the bullock of the sin-offering.

モーセはこれをほふり、その血を取り、指をもってその血を祭壇の四すみの角につけて祭壇を清め、また残りの血を祭壇のもとに注いで、これを聖別し、これがためにあがないをした。

And he slew it; and Moses took the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about with his finger, and purified the altar, and poured out the blood at the base of the altar, and sanctified it, to make atonement for it.

モーセはまたその内臓の上のすべての脂肪、肝臓の小葉、二つの腎臓とその脂肪とを取り、これを祭壇の上で焼いた。

And he took all the fat that was upon the inwards, and the caul of the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat; and Moses burned it upon the altar.

ただし、その雄牛の皮と肉と汚物は宿営の外で、火をもって焼き捨てた。主がモーセに命じられたとおりである。

But the bullock, and its skin, and its flesh, and its dung, he burnt with fire without the camp; as Jehovah commanded Moses.

彼はまた燔祭の雄羊を連れてこさせ、アロンとその子たちは、その雄羊の頭に手を置いた。

And he presented the ram of the burnt-offering: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the ram.

モーセはこれをほふって、その血を祭壇の周囲に注ぎかけた。

And he killed it; and Moses sprinkled the blood upon the altar round about.

そして、モーセはその雄羊を節々に切り分かち、その頭と切り分けたものと脂肪とを焼いた。

And he cut the ram into its pieces; and Moses burnt the head, and the pieces, and the fat.

またモーセは水でその内臓と足とを洗い、その雄羊をことごとく祭壇の上で焼いた。これは香ばしいかおりのための燔祭であって、主にささげる火祭である。主がモーセに命じられたとおりである。

And he washed the inwards and the legs with water; and Moses burnt the whole ram upon the altar: it was a burnt-offering for a sweet savor: it was an offering made by fire unto Jehovah; as Jehovah commanded Moses.

彼はまたほかの雄羊、すなわち任職の雄羊を連れてこさせ、アロンとその子たちは、その雄羊の頭に手を置いた。

And he presented the other ram, the ram of consecration: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the ram.

モーセはこれをほふり、その血を取って、アロンの右の耳たぶと、右手の親指と、右足の親指とにつけた。

And he slew it; and Moses took of the blood thereof, and put it upon the tip of Aaron`s right ear, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot.

またモーセはアロンの子たちを連れてきて、その血を彼らの右の耳たぶと、右手の親指と、右足の親指とにつけた。そしてモーセはその残りの血を、祭壇の周囲に注ぎかけた。

And he brought Aaron`s sons; and Moses put of the blood upon the tip of their right ear, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot: and Moses sprinkled the blood upon the altar round about.

彼はまたその脂肪、すなわち脂尾、内臓の上のすべての脂肪、肝臓の小葉、二つの腎臓とその脂肪、ならびにその右のももを取り、

And he took the fat, and the fat tail, and all the fat that was upon the inwards, and the caul of the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat, and the right thigh:

また主の前にある種入れぬパンのかごから種入れぬ菓子一つと、油を入れたパンの菓子一つと、煎餅一つとを取って、かの脂肪と右のももとの上に載せ、

and out of the basket of unleavened bread, that was before Jehovah, he took one unleavened cake, and one cake of oiled bread, and one wafer, and placed them on the fat, and upon the right thigh:

これをすべてアロンの手と、その子たちの手に渡し、主の前に揺り動かさせて揺祭とした。

and he put the whole upon the hands of Aaron, and upon the hands of his sons, and waved them for a wave-offering before Jehovah.

そしてモーセはこれを彼らの手から取り、祭壇の上で燔祭と共に焼いた。これは香ばしいかおりとする任職の供え物であって、主にささげる火祭である。

And Moses took them from off their hands, and burnt them on the altar upon the burnt-offering: they were a consecration for a sweet savor: it was an offering made by fire unto Jehovah.

そしてモーセはその胸を取り、主の前にこれを揺り動かして揺祭とした。これは任職の雄羊のうちモーセに帰すべき分であった。主がモーセに命じられたとおりである。

And Moses took the breast, and waved it for a wave-offering before Jehovah: it was Moses` portion of the ram of consecration; as Jehovah commanded Moses.

モーセはまた注ぎ油と祭壇の上の血とを取り、これをアロンとその服、またその子たちとその服とに注いで、アロンとその服、およびその子たちと、その服とを聖別した。

And Moses took of the anointing oil, and of the blood which was upon the altar, and sprinkled it upon Aaron, upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon his sons` garments with him, and sanctified Aaron, his garments, and his sons, and his sons` garments with him.

モーセはまたアロンとその子たちに言った、「会見の幕屋の入口でその肉を煮なさい。そして任職祭のかごの中のパンと共に、それをその所で食べなさい。これは『アロンとその子たちが食べなければならない、と言え』とわたしが命じられたとおりである。

And Moses said unto Aaron and to his sons, Boil the flesh at the door of the tent of meeting: and there eat it and the bread that is in the basket of consecration, as I commanded, saying, Aaron and his sons shall eat it.

あなたがたはその肉とパンとの残ったものを火で焼き捨てなければならない。

And that which remaineth of the flesh and of the bread shall ye burn with fire.

あなたがたはその任職祭の終る日まで七日の間、会見の幕屋の入口から出てはならない。あなたがたの任職は七日を要するからである。

And ye shall not go out from the door of the tent of meeting seven days, until the days of your consecration be fulfilled: for he shall consecrate you seven days.

きょう行ったように、あなたがたのために、あがないをせよ、と主はお命じになった。

As hath been done this day, so Jehovah hath commanded to do, to make atonement for you.

あなたがたは会見の幕屋の入口に七日の間、日夜とどまり、主の仰せを守って、死ぬことのないようにしなければならない。わたしはそのように命じられたからである」。

And at the door of the tent of meeting shall ye abide day and night seven days, and keep the charge of Jehovah, that ye die not: for so I am commanded.

アロンとその子たちは主がモーセによってお命じになったことを、ことごとく行った。

And Aaron and his sons did all the things which Jehovah commanded by Moses.

第9章

八日目になって、モーセはアロンとその子たち、およびイスラエルの長老たちを呼び寄せ、

And it came to pass on the eighth day, that Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel;

アロンに言った、「あなたは雄の子牛の全きものを罪祭のために取り、また雄羊の全きものを燔祭のために取って、主の前にささげなさい。

and he said unto Aaron, Take thee a calf of the herd for a sin-offering, and a ram for a burnt-offering, without blemish, and offer them before Jehovah.

あなたはまたイスラエルの人々に言いなさい、『あなたがたは雄やぎを罪祭のために取り、また一歳の全き子牛と小羊とを燔祭のために取りなさい、

And unto the children of Israel thou shalt speak, saying, Take ye a he-goat for a sin-offering; and a calf and a lamb, both a year old, without blemish, for a burnt-offering;

また主の前にささげる酬恩祭のために雄牛と雄羊とを取り、また油を混ぜた素祭を取りなさい。主がきょうあなたがたに現れたもうからである』」。

and an ox and a ram for peace-offerings, to sacrifice before Jehovah; and a meal-offering mingled with oil: for to-day Jehovah appeareth unto you.

彼らはモーセが命じたものを会見の幕屋の前に携えてきた。会衆がみな近づいて主の前に立ったので、

And they brought that which Moses commanded before the tent of meeting: and all the congregation drew near and stood before Jehovah.

モーセは言った、「これは主があなたがたに、せよと命じられたことである。こうして主の栄光はあなたがたに現れるであろう」。

And Moses said, This is the thing which Jehovah commanded that ye should do: and the glory of Jehovah shall appear unto you.

モーセはまたアロンに言った、「あなたは祭壇に近づき、あなたの罪祭と燔祭をささげて、あなたのため、また民のためにあがないをし、また民の供え物をささげて、彼らのためにあがないをし、すべて主がお命じになったようにしなさい」。

And Moses said unto Aaron, Draw near unto the altar, and offer thy sin-offering, and thy burnt-offering, and make atonement for thyself, and for the people; and offer the oblation of the people, and make atonement for them; as Jehovah commanded.

そこでアロンは祭壇に近づき、自分のための罪祭の子牛をほふった。

So Aaron drew near unto the altar, and slew the calf of the sin-offering, which was for himself.

そしてアロンの子たちは、その血を彼のもとに携えてきたので、彼は指をその血に浸し、それを祭壇の角につけ、残りの血を祭壇のもとに注ぎ、

And the sons of Aaron presented the blood unto him; and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the base of the altar:

また罪祭の脂肪と腎臓と肝臓の小葉とを祭壇の上で焼いた。主がモーセに命じられたとおりである。

but the fat, and the kidneys, and the caul from the liver of the sin-offering, he burnt upon the altar; as Jehovah commanded Moses.

またその肉と皮とは宿営の外で火をもって焼き捨てた。

And the flesh and the skin he burnt with fire without the camp.

彼はまた燔祭の獣をほふり、アロンの子たちがその血を彼に渡したので、これを祭壇の周囲に注ぎかけた。

And he slew the burnt-offering; and Aaron`s sons delivered unto him the blood, and he sprinkled it upon the altar round about.

彼らがまた燔祭のもの、すなわち、その切り分けたものと頭とを彼に渡したので、彼はこれを祭壇の上で焼いた。

And they delivered the burnt-offering unto him, piece by piece, and the head: and he burnt them upon the altar.

またその内臓と足とを洗い、祭壇の上で燔祭と共にこれを焼いた。

And he washed the inwards and the legs, and burnt them upon the burnt-offering on the altar.

彼はまた民の供え物をささげた。すなわち、民のための罪祭のやぎを取ってこれをほふり、前のようにこれを罪のためにささげた。

And he presented the people`s oblation, and took the goat of the sin-offering which was for the people, and slew it, and offered it for sin, as the first.

また燔祭をささげた。すなわち、これを定めのようにささげた。

And he presented the burnt-offering, and offered it according to the ordinance.

また素祭をささげ、そのうちから一握りを取り、朝の燔祭に加えて、これを祭壇の上で焼いた。

And he presented the meal-offering, and filled his hand therefrom, and burnt it upon the altar, besides the burnt-offering of the morning.

彼はまた民のためにささげる酬恩祭の犠牲の雄牛と雄羊とをほふり、アロンの子たちが、その血を彼に渡したので、彼はこれを祭壇の周囲に注ぎかけた。

He slew also the ox and the ram, the sacrifice of peace-offerings, which was for the people: and Aaron`s sons delivered unto him the blood, which he sprinkled upon the altar round about,

またその雄牛と雄羊との脂肪、すなわち、脂尾、内臓をおおうもの、腎臓、肝臓の小葉。

and the fat of the ox and of the ram, the fat tail, and that which covereth [the inwards], and the kidneys, and the caul of the liver:

これらの脂肪を彼らはその胸の上に載せて携えてきたので、彼はその脂肪を祭壇の上で焼いた。

and they put the fat upon the breasts, and he burnt the fat upon the altar:

その胸と右のももとは、アロンが主の前に揺り動かして揺祭とした。モーセが命じたとおりである。

and the breasts and the right thigh Aaron waved for a wave-offering before Jehovah; as Moses commanded.

アロンは民にむかって手をあげて、彼らを祝福し、罪祭、燔祭、酬恩祭をささげ終って降りた。

And Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people, and blessed them; and he came down from offering the sin-offering, and the burnt-offering, and the peace-offerings.

モーセとアロンは会見の幕屋に入り、また出てきて民を祝福した。そして主の栄光はすべての民に現れ、

And Moses and Aaron went into the tent of meeting, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of Jehovah appeared unto all the people.

主の前から火が出て、祭壇の上の燔祭と脂肪とを焼きつくした。民はみな、これを見て喜びよばわり、そしてひれ伏した。

And there came forth fire from before Jehovah, and consumed upon the altar the burnt-offering and the fat: and when all the people saw it, they shouted, and fell on their faces.

第10章

さてアロンの子ナダブとアビフとは、おのおのその香炉を取って火をこれに入れ、薫香をその上に盛って、異火を主の前にささげた。これは主の命令に反することであったので、

And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took each of them his censer, and put fire therein, and laid incense thereon, and offered strange fire before Jehovah, which he had not commanded them.

主の前から火が出て彼らを焼き滅ぼし、彼らは主の前に死んだ。

And there came forth fire from before Jehovah, and devoured them, and they died before Jehovah.

その時モーセはアロンに言った、「主は、こう仰せられた。すなわち『わたしは、わたしに近づく者のうちに、わたしの聖なることを示し、すべての民の前に栄光を現すであろう』」。アロンは黙していた。

Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that Jehovah spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.

モーセはアロンの叔父ウジエルの子ミシヤエルとエルザパンとを呼び寄せて彼らに言った、「近寄って、あなたがたの兄弟たちを聖所の前から、宿営の外に運び出しなさい」。

And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Draw near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp.

彼らは近寄って、彼らをその服のまま宿営の外に運び出し、モーセの言ったようにした。

So they drew near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp, as Moses had said.

モーセはまたアロンおよびその子エレアザルとイタマルとに言った、「あなたがたは髪の毛を乱し、また衣服を裂いてはならない。あなたがたが死ぬことのないため、また主の怒りが、すべての会衆に及ぶことのないためである。ただし、あなたがたの兄弟イスラエルの全家は、主が火をもって焼き滅ぼしたもうたことを嘆いてもよい。

And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Let not the hair of your heads go loose, neither rend your clothes; that ye die not, and that he be not wroth with all the congregation: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which Jehovah hath kindled.

また、あなたがたは死ぬことのないように、会見の幕屋の入口から外へ出てはならない。あなたがたの上に主の注ぎ油があるからである」。彼らはモーセの言葉のとおりにした。

And ye shall not go out from the door of the tent of meeting, lest ye die; for the anointing oil of Jehovah is upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses.

主はアロンに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Aaron, saying,

「あなたも、あなたの子たちも会見の幕屋にはいる時には、死ぬことのないように、ぶどう酒と濃い酒を飲んではならない。これはあなたがたが代々永く守るべき定めとしなければならない。

Drink no wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tent of meeting, that ye die not: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:

これはあなたがたが聖なるものと俗なるもの、汚れたものと清いものとの区別をすることができるため、

and that ye may make a distinction between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean;

また主がモーセによって語られたすべての定めを、イスラエルの人々に教えることができるためである」。

and that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which Jehovah hath spoken unto them by Moses.

モーセはまたアロンおよびその残っている子エレアザルとイタマルとに言った、「あなたがたは主の火祭のうちから素祭の残りを取り、パン種を入れずに、これを祭壇のかたわらで食べなさい。これはいと聖なる物である。

And Moses spake unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons that were left, Take the meal-offering that remaineth of the offerings of Jehovah made by fire, and eat it without leaven beside the altar; for it is most holy;

これは主の火祭のうちからあなたの受ける分、またあなたの子たちの受ける分であるから、あなたがたはこれを聖なる所で食べなければならない。わたしはこのように命じられたのである。

and ye shall eat it in a holy place, because it is thy portion, and thy sons` portion, of the offerings of Jehovah made by fire: for so I am commanded.

また揺り動かした胸とささげたももとは、あなたとあなたのむすこ、娘たちがこれを清い所で食べなければならない。これはイスラエルの人々の酬恩祭の犠牲の中からあなたの分、あなたの子たちの分として与えられるものだからである。

And the wave-breast and the heave-thigh shall ye eat in a clean place, thou, and thy sons, and thy daughters with thee: for they are given as thy portion, and thy sons` portion, out of the sacrifices of the peace-offerings of the children of Israel.

彼らはそのささげたももと揺り動かした胸とを、火祭の脂肪と共に携えてきて、これを主の前に揺り動かして揺祭としなければならない。これは主がお命じになったように、長く受くべき分としてあなたと、あなたの子たちとに帰するであろう」。

The heave-thigh and the wave-breast shall they bring with the offerings made by fire of the fat, to wave it for a wave-offering before Jehovah: and it shall be thine, and thy sons` with thee, as a portion for ever; as Jehovah hath commanded.

さてモーセは罪祭のやぎを、ていねいに捜したが、見よ、それがすでに焼かれていたので、彼は残っているアロンの子エレアザルとイタマルとにむかい、怒って言った、

And Moses diligently sought the goat of the sin-offering, and, behold, it was burnt: and he was angry with Eleazar and with Ithamar, the sons of Aaron that were left, saying,

「あなたがたは、なぜ罪祭のものを聖なる所で食べなかったのか。これはいと聖なる物であって、あなたがたが会衆の罪を負って、彼らのために主の前にあがないをするため、あなたがたに賜わった物である。

Wherefore have ye not eaten the sin-offering in the place of the sanctuary, seeing it is most holy, and he hath given it you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before Jehovah?

見よ、その血は聖所の中に携え入れなかった。その肉はわたしが命じたように、あなたがたは必ずそれを聖なる所で食べるべきであった」。

Behold, the blood of it was not brought into the sanctuary within: ye should certainly have eaten it in the sanctuary, as I commanded.

アロンはモーセに言った、「見よ、きょう、彼らはその罪祭と燔祭とを主の前にささげたが、このような事がわたしに臨んだ。もしわたしが、きょう罪祭のものを食べたとしたら、主はこれを良しとせられたであろうか」。

And Aaron spake unto Moses, Behold, this day have they offered their sin-offering and their burnt-offering before Jehovah; and there have befallen me such things as these: and if I had eaten the sin-offering to-day, would it have been well-pleasing in the sight of Jehovah?

モーセはこれを聞いて良しとした。

And when Moses heard [that], it was well-pleasing in his sight.

第11章

主はまたモーセとアロンに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,

「イスラエルの人々に言いなさい、『地にあるすべての獣のうち、あなたがたの食べることができる動物は次のとおりである。

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the living things which ye may eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.

獣のうち、すべてひずめの分かれたもの、すなわち、ひずめの全く切れたもの、反芻するものは、これを食べることができる。

Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, [and] cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that may ye eat.

ただし、反芻するもの、またはひずめの分かれたもののうち、次のものは食べてはならない。すなわち、らくだ、これは、反芻するけれども、ひずめが分かれていないから、あなたがたには汚れたものである。

Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that part the hoof: the camel, because he cheweth the cud but parteth not the hoof, he is unclean unto you.

And the coney, because he cheweth the cud but parteth not the hoof, he is unclean unto you.

And the hare, because she cheweth the cud but parteth not the hoof, she is unclean unto you.

And the swine, because he parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, but cheweth not the cud, he is unclean unto you.

Of their flesh ye shall not eat, and their carcasses ye shall not touch; they are unclean unto you.

水の中にいるすべてのもののうち、あなたがたの食べることができるものは次のとおりである。すなわち、海でも、川でも、すべて水の中にいるもので、ひれと、うろこのあるものは、これを食べることができる。

These may ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, that may ye eat.

すべて水に群がるもの、またすべての水の中にいる生き物のうち、すなわち、すべて海、また川にいて、ひれとうろこのないものは、あなたがたに忌むべきものである。

And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of all the living creatures that are in the waters, they are an abomination unto you,

これらはあなたがたに忌むべきものであるから、あなたがたはその肉を食べてはならない。またその死体は忌むべきものとしなければならない。

and they shall be an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, and their carcasses ye shall have in abomination.

Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that is an abomination unto you.

鳥のうち、次のものは、あなたがたに忌むべきものとして、食べてはならない。それらは忌むべきものである。すなわち、はげわし、ひげはげわし、みさご、

And these ye shall have in abomination among the birds; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the gier-eagle, and the ospray,

and the kite, and the falcon after its kind,

もろもろのからすの類、

every raven after its kind,

だちょう、よたか、かもめ、たかの類、

and the ostrich, and the night-hawk, and the seamew, and the hawk after its kind,

ふくろう、う、みみずく、

and the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,

むらさきばん、ペリカン、はげたか、

and the horned owl, and the pelican, and the vulture,

こうのとり、さぎの類、やつがしら、こうもり。

and the stork, the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.

また羽があって四つの足で歩くすべての這うものは、あなたがたに忌むべきものである。

All winged creeping things that go upon all fours are an abomination unto you.

ただし、羽があって四つの足で歩くすべての這うもののうち、その足のうえに、跳ね足があり、それで地の上をはねるものは食べることができる。

Yet these may ye eat of all winged creeping things that go upon all fours, which have legs above their feet, wherewith to leap upon the earth.

すなわち、そのうち次のものは食べることができる。移住いなごの類、遍歴いなごの類、大いなごの類、小いなごの類である。

Even these of them ye may eat: the locust after its kind, and the bald locust after its kind, and the cricket after its kind, and the grasshopper after its kind.

しかし、羽があって四つの足で歩く、そのほかのすべての這うものは、あなたがたに忌むべきものである。

But all winged creeping things, which have four feet, are an abomination unto you.

あなたがたは次の場合に汚れたものとなる。すなわち、すべてこれらのものの死体に触れる者は夕まで汚れる。

And by these ye shall become unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcass of them shall be unclean until the even;

すべてこれらのものの死体を運ぶ者は、その衣服を洗わなければならない。彼は夕まで汚れる。

And whosoever beareth [aught] of the carcass of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.

すべて、ひずめの分かれた獣で、その切れ目の切れていないもの、また、反芻することをしないものは、あなたがたに汚れたものである。すべて、これに触れる者は汚れる。

Every beast which parteth the hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor cheweth the cud, is unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean.

すべて四つの足で歩く獣のうち、その足の裏のふくらみで歩くものは皆あなたがたに汚れたものである。すべてその死体に触れる者は夕まで汚れる。

And whatsoever goeth upon its paws, among all beasts that go on all fours, they are unclean unto you: whoso toucheth their carcass shall be unclean until the even.

その死体を運ぶ者は、その衣服を洗わなければならない。彼は夕まで汚れる。これは、あなたがたに汚れたものである。

And he that beareth the carcass of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: they are unclean unto you.

地にはう這うもののうち、次のものはあなたがたに汚れたものである。すなわち、もぐらねずみ、とびねずみ、とげ尾とかげの類、

And these are they which are unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth: the weasel, and the mouse, and the great lizard after its kind,

やもり、大とかげ、とかげ、すなとかげ、カメレオン。

and the gecko, and the land-crocodile, and the lizard, and the sand-lizard, and the chameleon.

もろもろの這うもののうち、これらはあなたがたに汚れたものである。すべてそれらのものが死んで、それに触れる者は夕まで汚れる。

These are they which are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they are dead, shall be unclean until the even.

またそれらのものが死んで、それが落ちかかった物はすべて汚れる。木の器であれ、衣服であれ、皮であれ、袋であれ、およそ仕事に使う器はそれを水に入れなければならない。それは夕まで汚れているが、そののち清くなる。

And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherewith any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; then shall it be clean.

またそれらのものが、土の器の中に落ちたならば、その中にあるものは皆汚れる。あなたがたはその器をこわさなければならない。

And every earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean, and it ye shall break.

またすべてその中にある食物で、水分のあるものは汚れる。またすべてそのような器の中にある飲み物も皆汚れる。

All food [therein] which may be eaten, that on which water cometh, shall be unclean; and all drink that may be drunk in every [such] vessel shall be unclean.

またそれらのものの死体が落ちかかったならば、その物はすべて汚れる。天火であれ、かまどであれ、それをこわさなければならない。これらは汚れたもので、あなたがたに汚れたものとなる。

And every thing whereupon [any part] of their carcass falleth shall be unclean; whether oven, or range for pots, it shall be broken in pieces: they are unclean, and shall be unclean unto you.

ただし、泉、あるいは水の集まった水たまりは汚れない。しかし、その死体に触れる者は汚れる。

Nevertheless a fountain or a pit wherein is a gathering of water shall be clean: but that which toucheth their carcass shall be unclean.

それらのものの死体が、まく種の上に落ちても、それは汚れない。

And if [aught] of their carcass fall upon any sowing seed which is to be sown, it is clean.

ただし、種の上に水がかかっていて、その上にそれらのものの死体が、落ちるならば、それはあなたがたに汚れたものとなる。

But if water be put upon the seed, and [aught] of their carcass fall thereon, it is unclean unto you.

あなたがたの食べる獣が死んだ時、その死体に触れる者は夕まで汚れる。

And if any beast, of which ye may eat, die; he that toucheth the carcass thereof shall be unclean until the even.

その死体を食べる者は、その衣服を洗わなければならない。夕まで汚れる。その死体を運ぶ者も、その衣服を洗わなければならない。夕まで汚れる。

And he that eateth of the carcass of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: he also that beareth the carcass of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.

すべて地にはう這うものは忌むべきものである。これを食べてはならない。

And every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth is an abomination; it shall not be eaten.

すべて腹ばい行くもの、四つ足で歩くもの、あるいは多くの足をもつもの、すなわち、すべて地にはう這うものは、あなたがたはこれを食べてはならない。それらは忌むべきものだからである。

Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all fours, or whatsoever hath many feet, even all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination.

あなたがたはすべて這うものによって、あなたがたの身を忌むべきものとしてはならない。また、これをもって身を汚し、あるいはこれによって汚されてはならない。

Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby.

わたしはあなたがたの神、主であるから、あなたがたはおのれを聖別し、聖なる者とならなければならない。わたしは聖なる者である。地にはう這うものによって、あなたがたの身を汚してはならない。

For I am Jehovah your God: sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that moveth upon the earth.

わたしはあなたがたの神となるため、あなたがたをエジプトの国から導き上った主である。わたしは聖なる者であるから、あなたがたは聖なる者とならなければならない』」。

For I am Jehovah that brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

これは獣と鳥と、水の中に動くすべての生き物と、地に這うすべてのものに関するおきてであって、

This is the law of the beast, and of the bird, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth;

汚れたものと清いもの、食べられる生き物と、食べられない生き物とを区別するものである。

to make a distinction between the unclean and the clean, and between the living thing that may be eaten and the living thing that may not be eaten.

第12章

主はまたモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「イスラエルの人々に言いなさい、『女がもし身ごもって男の子を産めば、七日のあいだ汚れる。すなわち、月のさわりの日かずほど汚れるであろう。

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman conceive seed, and bear a man-child, then she shall be unclean seven days; as in the days of the impurity of her sickness shall she be unclean.

八日目にはその子の前の皮に割礼を施さなければならない。

And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.

その女はなお、血の清めに三十三日を経なければならない。その清めの日の満ちるまでは、聖なる物に触れてはならない。また聖なる所にはいってはならない。

And she shall continue in the blood of [her] purifying three and thirty days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled.

もし女の子を産めば、二週間、月のさわりと同じように汚れる。その女はなお、血の清めに六十六日を経なければならない。

But if she bear a maid-child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her impurity; and she shall continue in the blood of [her] purifying threescore and six days.

男の子または女の子についての清めの日が満ちるとき、女は燔祭のために一歳の小羊、罪祭のために家ばとのひな、あるいは山ばとを、会見の幕屋の入口の、祭司のもとに、携えてこなければならない。

And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb a year old for a burnt-offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtle-dove, for a sin-offering, unto the door of the tent of meeting, unto the priest:

祭司はこれを主の前にささげて、その女のために、あがないをしなければならない。こうして女はその出血の汚れが清まるであろう。これは男の子または女の子を産んだ女のためのおきてである。

and he shall offer it before Jehovah, and make atonement for her; and she shall be cleansed from the fountain of her blood. This is the law for her that beareth, whether a male or a female.

もしその女が小羊に手の届かないときは、山ばと二羽か、家ばとのひな二羽かを取って、一つを燔祭、一つを罪祭とし、祭司はその女のために、あがないをしなければならない。こうして女は清まるであろう』」。

And if her means suffice not for a lamb, then she shall take two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons; the one for a burnt-offering, and the other for a sin-offering: and the priest shall make atonement for her, and she shall be clean.

第13章

主はまたモーセとアロンに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

「人がその身の皮に腫、あるいは吹出物、あるいは光る所ができ、これがその身の皮にらい病の患部のようになるならば、その人を祭司アロンまたは、祭司なるアロンの子たちのひとりのもとに、連れて行かなければならない。

When a man shall have in the skin of his flesh a rising, or a scab, or a bright spot, and it become in the skin of his flesh the plague of leprosy, then he shall be brought unto Aaron the priest, or unto one of his sons the priests:

祭司はその身の皮の患部を見、その患部の毛がもし白く変り、かつ患部が、その身の皮よりも深く見えるならば、それはらい病の患部である。祭司は彼を見て、これを汚れた者としなければならない。

and the priest shall look on the plague in the skin of the flesh: and if the hair in the plague be turned white, and the appearance of the plague be deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is the plague of leprosy; and the priest shall look on him, and pronounce him unclean.

もしまたその身の皮の光る所が白くて、皮よりも深く見えず、また毛も白く変っていないならば、祭司はその患者を七日のあいだ留め置かなければならない。

And if the bright spot be white in the skin of his flesh, and the appearance thereof be not deeper than the skin, and the hair thereof be not turned white, then the priest shall shut up [him that hath] the plague seven days:

七日目に祭司はこれを見て、もし患部の様子に変りがなく、また患部が皮に広がっていないならば、祭司はその人をさらに七日のあいだ留め置かなければならない。

and the priest shall look on him the seventh day: and, behold, if in his eyes the plague be at a stay, and the plague be not spread in the skin, then the priest shall shut him up seven days more:

七日目に祭司は再びその人を見て、患部がもし薄らぎ、また患部が皮に広がっていないならば、祭司はこれを清い者としなければならない。これは吹出物である。その人は衣服を洗わなければならない。そして清くなるであろう。

and the priest shall look on him again the seventh day; and, behold, if the plague be dim, and the plague be not spread in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him clean: it is a scab: and he shall wash his clothes, and be clean.

しかし、その人が祭司に見せて清い者とされた後に、その吹出物が皮に広くひろがるならば、再び祭司にその身を見せなければならない。

But if the scab spread abroad in the skin, after that he hath showed himself to the priest for his cleansing, he shall show himself to the priest again:

祭司はこれを見て、その吹出物が皮に広がっているならば、祭司はその人を汚れた者としなければならない。これはらい病である。

and the priest shall look; and, behold, if the scab be spread in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is leprosy.

もし人にらい病の患部があるならば、その人を祭司のもとに連れて行かなければならない。

When the plague of leprosy is in a man, then he shall be brought unto the priest;

祭司がこれを見て、その皮に白い腫があり、その毛も白く変り、かつその腫に生きた生肉が見えるならば、

and the priest shall look; and, behold, if there be a white rising in the skin, and it have turned the hair white, and there be quick raw flesh in the rising,

これは古いらい病がその身の皮にあるのであるから、祭司はその人を汚れた者としなければならない。その人は汚れた者であるから、これを留め置くに及ばない。

it is an old leprosy in the skin of his flesh, and the priest shall pronounce him unclean: he shall not shut him up, for he is unclean.

もしらい病が広く皮に出て、そのらい病が、その患者の皮を頭から足まで、ことごとくおおい、祭司の見るところすべてに及んでおれば、

And if the leprosy break out abroad in the skin, and the leprosy cover all the skin of [him that hath] the plague from his head even to his feet, as far as appeareth to the priest;

祭司はこれを見、もしらい病がその身をことごとくおおっておれば、その患者を清い者としなければならない。それはことごとく白く変ったから、彼は清い者である。

then the priest shall look; and, behold, if the leprosy have covered all his flesh, he shall pronounce [him] clean [that hath] the plague: it is all turned white: he is clean.

しかし、もし生肉がその人に現れておれば、汚れた者である。

But whensoever raw flesh appeareth in him, he shall be unclean.

祭司はその生肉を見て、その人を汚れた者としなければならない。生肉は汚れたものであって、それはらい病である。

And the priest shall look on the raw flesh, and pronounce him unclean: the raw flesh is unclean: it is leprosy.

もしまたその生肉が再び白く変るならば、その人は祭司のもとに行かなければならない。

Or if the raw flesh turn again, and be changed unto white, then he shall come unto the priest;

祭司はその人を見て、もしその患部が白く変っておれば、祭司はその患者を清い者としなければならない。その人は清い者である。

and the priest shall look on him; and, behold, if the plague be turned into white, then the priest shall pronounce [him] clean [that hath] the plague: he is clean.

また身の皮に腫物があったが、直って、

And when the flesh hath in the skin thereof a boil, and it is healed,

その腫物の場所に白い腫、または赤みをおびた白い光る所があれば、これを祭司に見せなければならない。

and in the place of the boil there is a white rising, or a bright spot, reddish-white, then is shall be showed to the priest;

祭司はこれを見て、もし皮よりも低く見え、その毛が白く変っていれば、祭司はその人を汚れた者としなければならない。それは腫物に起ったらい病の患部だからである。

and the priest shall look; and, behold, if the appearance thereof be lower than the skin, and the hair thereof be turned white, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is the plague of leprosy, it hath broken out in the boil.

しかし、祭司がこれを見て、もしその所に白い毛がなく、また皮よりも低い所がなく、かえって薄らいでいるならば、祭司はその人を七日のあいだ留め置かなければならない。

But if the priest look on it, and, behold, there be no white hairs therein, and it be not lower than the skin, but be dim; then the priest shall shut him up seven days:

そしてもし皮に広くひろがっているならば、祭司はその人を汚れた者としなければならない。それは患部だからである。

And if it spread abroad in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a plague.

しかし、その光る所がもしその所にとどまって広がらなければ、それは腫物の跡である。祭司はその人を清い者としなければならない。

But if the bright spot stay in its place, and be not spread, it is the scar of the boil; and the priest shall pronounce him clean.

また身の皮にやけどがあって、そのやけどの生きた肉がもし赤みをおびた白、または、ただ白くて光る所となるならば、

Or when the flesh hath in the skin thereof a burning by fire, and the quick [flesh] of the burning become a bright spot, reddish-white, or white;

祭司はこれを見なければならない。そしてもし、その光る所にある毛が白く変って、そこが皮よりも深く見えるならば、これはやけどに生じたらい病である。祭司はその人を汚れた者としなければならない。これはらい病の患部だからである。

then the priest shall look upon it; and, behold, if the hair in the bright spot be turned white, and the appearance thereof be deeper than the skin; it is leprosy, it hath broken out in the burning: and the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is the plague of leprosy.

けれども祭司がこれを見て、その光る所に白い毛がなく、また皮よりも低い所がなく、かえって薄らいでいるならば、祭司はその人を七日のあいだ留め置き、

But if the priest look on it, and, behold, there be no white hair in the bright spot, and it be no lower than the skin, but be dim; then the priest shall shut him up seven days:

七日目に祭司は彼を見なければならない。もし皮に広くひろがっているならば、祭司はその人を汚れた者としなければならない。これはらい病の患部だからである。

and the priest shall look upon him the seventh day: if it spread abroad in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is the plague of leprosy.

もしその光る所が、その所にとどまって、皮に広がらずに、かえって薄らいでいるならば、これはやけどの腫である。祭司はその人を清い者としなければならない。これはやけどの跡だからである。

And if the bright spot stay in its place, and be not spread in the skin, but be dim; it is the rising of the burning, and the priest shall pronounce him clean: for it is the scar of the burning.

男あるいは女がもし、頭またはあごに患部が生じたならば、

And when a man or woman hath a plague upon the head or upon the beard,

祭司はその患部を見なければならない。もしそれが皮よりも深く見え、またそこに黄色の細い毛があるならば、祭司はその人を汚れた者としなければならない。それはかいせんであって、頭またはあごのらい病だからである。

then the priest shall look on the plague; and, behold, if the appearance thereof be deeper than the skin, and there be in it yellow thin hair, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a scall, it is leprosy of the head or of the beard.

また祭司がそのかいせんの患部を見て、もしそれが皮よりも深く見えず、またそこに黒い毛がないならば、祭司はそのかいせんの患者を七日のあいだ留め置き、

And if the priest look on the plague of the scall, and, behold, the appearance thereof be not deeper than the skin, and there be no black hair in it, then the priest shall shut up [him that hath] the plague of the scall seven days:

七日目に祭司はその患部を見なければならない。そのかいせんがもし広がらず、またそこに黄色の毛がなく、そのかいせんが皮よりも深く見えないならば、

And in the seventh day the priest shall look on the plague; and, behold, if the scall be not spread, and there be in it no yellow hair, and the appearance of the scall be not deeper than the skin,

その人は身をそらなければならない。ただし、そのかいせんをそってはならない。祭司はそのかいせんのある者をさらに七日のあいだ留め置き、

then he shall be shaven, but the scall shall he not shave; and the priest shall shut up [him that hath] the scall seven days more:

七日目に祭司はそのかいせんを見なければならない。もしそのかいせんが皮に広がらず、またそれが皮よりも深く見えないならば、祭司はその人を清い者としなければならない。その人はまたその衣服を洗わなければならない。そして清くなるであろう。

and in the seventh day the priest shall look on the scall; and, behold, if the scall be not spread in the skin, and the appearance thereof be not deeper than the skin; then the priest shall pronounce him clean: and he shall wash his clothes, and be clean.

しかし、もし彼が清い者とされた後に、そのかいせんが、皮に広くひろがるならば、

But if the scall spread abroad in the skin after his cleansing,

祭司はその人を見なければならない。もしそのかいせんが皮に広がっているならば、祭司は黄色の毛を捜すまでもなく、その人は汚れた者である。

then the priest shall look on him; and, behold, if the scall be spread in the skin, the priest shall not seek for the yellow hair; he is unclean.

しかし、もしそのかいせんの様子に変りなく、そこに黒い毛が生じているならば、そのかいせんは直ったので、その人は清い。祭司はその人を清い者としなければならない。

But if in his eyes the scall be at a stay, and black hair be grown up therein; the scall is healed, he is clean: and the priest shall pronounce him clean.

また男あるいは女がもし、その身の皮に光る所、すなわち白い光る所があるならば、

And when a man or a woman hath in the skin of the flesh bright spots, even white bright spots;

祭司はこれを見なければならない。もしその身の皮の光る所が、鈍い白であるならば、これはただ白せんがその皮に生じたのであって、その人は清い。

then the priest shall look; and, behold, if the bright spots in the skin of their flesh be of a dull white, it is a tetter, it hath broken out in the skin; he is clean.

人がもしその頭から毛が抜け落ちても、それがはげならば清い。

And if a man`s hair be fallen off his head, he is bald; [yet] is he clean.

もしその額の毛が抜け落ちても、それが額のはげならば清い。

And if his hair be fallen off from the front part of his head, he is forehead bald; [yet] is he clean.

けれども、もしそのはげ頭または、はげ額に赤みをおびた白い患部があるならば、それはそのはげ頭または、はげ額にらい病が発したのである。

But if there be in the bald head, or the bald forehead, a reddish-white plague; it is leprosy breaking out in his bald head, or his bald forehead.

祭司はこれを見なければならない。もしそのはげ頭または、はげ額の患部の腫が白く赤みをおびて、身の皮にらい病があらわれているならば、

Then the priest shall look upon him; and, behold, if the rising of the plague be reddish-white in his bald head, or in his bald forehead, as the appearance of leprosy in the skin of the flesh;

その人はらい病に冒された者であって、汚れた者である。祭司はその人を確かに汚れた者としなければならない。患部が頭にあるからである。

he is a leprous man, he is unclean: the priest shall surely pronounce him unclean; his plague is in his head.

患部のあるらい病人は、その衣服を裂き、その頭を現し、その口ひげをおおって『汚れた者、汚れた者』と呼ばわらなければならない。

And the leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and the hair of his head shall go loose, and he shall cover his upper lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean.

その患部が身にある日の間は汚れた者としなければならない。その人は汚れた者であるから、離れて住まなければならない。すなわち、そのすまいは宿営の外でなければならない。

All the days wherein the plague is in him he shall be unclean; he is unclean: he shall dwell alone; without the camp shall his dwelling be.

また衣服にらい病の患部が生じた時は、それが羊毛の衣服であれ、亜麻の衣服であれ、

The garment also that the plague of leprosy is in, whether it be a woollen garment, or a linen garment;

あるいは亜麻または羊毛の縦糸であれ、横糸であれ、あるいは皮であれ、皮で作ったどのような物であれ、

whether it be in warp, or woof; of linen, or of woollen; whether in a skin, or in anything made of skin;

もしその衣服あるいは皮、あるいは縦糸、あるいは横糸、あるいは皮で作ったどのような物であれ、その患部が青みをおびているか、あるいは赤みをおびているならば、これはらい病の患部である。これを祭司に見せなければならない。

if the plague be greenish or reddish in the garment, or in the skin, or in the warp, or in the woof, or in anything of skin; it is the plague of leprosy, and shall be showed unto the priest.

祭司はその患部を見て、その患部のある物を七日のあいだ留め置き、

And the priest shall look upon the plague, and shut up [that which hath] the plague seven days:

七日目に患部を見て、もしその衣服、あるいは縦糸、あるいは横糸、あるいは皮、またどのように用いられている皮であれ、患部が広がっているならば、その患部は悪性のらい病であって、それは汚れた物である。

and he shall look on the plague on the seventh day: if the plague be spread in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in the skin, whatever service skin is used for; the plague is a fretting leprosy; it is unclean.

彼はその患部のある衣服、あるいは羊毛、または亜麻の縦糸、または横糸、あるいはすべて皮で作った物を焼かなければならない。これは悪性のらい病であるから、その物を火で焼かなければならない。

And he shall burn the garment, whether the warp or the woof, in woollen or in linen, or anything of skin, wherein the plague is: for it is a fretting leprosy; it shall be burnt in the fire.

しかし、祭司がこれを見て、もし患部がその衣服、あるいは縦糸、あるいは横糸、あるいはすべて皮で作った物に広がっていないならば、

And if the priest shall look, and, behold, the plague be not spread in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in anything of skin;

祭司は命じて、その患部のある物を洗わせ、さらに七日の間これを留め置かなければならない。

then the priest shall command that they wash the thing wherein the plague is, and he shall shut it up seven days more:

そしてその患部を洗った後、祭司はそれを見て、もし患部の色が変らなければ、患部が広がらなくても、それは汚れた物である。それが表にあっても裏にあっても腐れであるから、それを火で焼かなければならない。

and the priest shall look, after that the plague is washed; and, behold, if the plague have not changed its color, and the plague be not spread, it is unclean; thou shalt burn it in the fire: it is a fret, whether the bareness be within or without.

しかし、祭司がこれを見て、それを洗った後に、その患部が薄らいだならば、その衣服、あるいは皮、あるいは縦糸、あるいは横糸から、それを切り取らなければならない。

And if the priest look, and, behold, the plague be dim after the washing thereof, then he shall rend it out of the garment, or out of the skin, or out of the warp, or out of the woof:

しかし、なおその衣服、あるいは縦糸、あるいは横糸、あるいはすべて皮で作った物にそれが現れれば、それは再発したのである。その患部のある物を火で焼かなければならない。

and if it appear still in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in anything of skin, it is breaking out: thou shalt burn that wherein the plague is with fire.

また洗った衣服、あるいは縦糸、あるいは横糸、あるいはすべて皮で作った物から、患部が消え去るならば、再びそれを洗わなければならない。そうすれば清くなるであろう」。

And the garment, either the warp, or the woof, or whatsoever thing of skin it be, which thou shalt wash, if the plague be departed from them, then it shall be washed the second time, and shall be clean.

これは羊毛または亜麻の衣服、あるいは縦糸、あるいは横糸、あるいはすべて皮で作った物に生じるらい病の患部について、それを清い物とし、または汚れた物とするためのおきてである。

This is the law of the plague of leprosy in a garment of woollen or linen, either in the warp, or the woof, or anything of skin, to pronounce it clean, or to pronounce it unclean.

第14章

主はまたモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「らい病人が清い者とされる時のおきては次のとおりである。すなわち、その人を祭司のもとに連れて行き、

This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing: he shall be brought unto the priest:

and the priest shall go forth out of the camp; and the priest shall look; and, behold, if the plague of leprosy be healed in the leper,

祭司は命じてその清められる者のために、生きている清い小鳥二羽と、香柏の木と、緋の糸と、ヒソプとを取ってこさせ、

then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed two living clean birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop:

祭司はまた命じて、その小鳥の一羽を、流れ水を盛った土の器の上で殺させ、

And the priest shall command to kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water.

そして生きている小鳥を、香柏の木と、緋の糸と、ヒソプと共に取って、これをかの流れ水を盛った土の器の上で殺した小鳥の血に、その生きている小鳥と共に浸し、

As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water:

これをらい病から清められる者に七たび注いで、その人を清い者とし、その生きている小鳥は野に放たなければならない。

And he shall sprinkle upon him that is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let go the living bird into the open field.

清められる者はその衣服を洗い、毛をことごとくそり落し、水に身をすすいで清くなり、その後、宿営にはいることができる。ただし七日の間はその天幕の外にいなければならない。

And he that is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and bathe himself in water; and he shall be clean: and after that he shall come into the camp, but shall dwell outside his tent seven days.

そして七日目に毛をことごとくそらなければならい。頭の毛も、ひげも、まゆも、ことごとくそらなければならない。彼はその衣服を洗い、水に身をすすいで清くなるであろう。

And it shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair he shall shave off: and he shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and he shall be clean.

八日目にその人は雄の小羊の全きもの二頭と、一歳の雌の小羊の全きもの一頭とを取り、また麦粉十分の三エパに油を混ぜた素祭と、油一ログとを取らなければならない。

And on the eighth day he shall take two he-lambs without blemish, and one ewe-lamb a year old without blemish, and three tenth parts [of an ephah] of fine flour for a meal-offering, mingled with oil, and one log of oil.

清めをなす祭司は、清められる人とこれらの物とを、会見の幕屋の入口で主の前に置き、

And the priest that cleanseth him shall set the man that is to be cleansed, and those things, before Jehovah, at the door of the tent of meeting.

祭司は、かの雄の小羊一頭を取って、これを一ログの油と共に愆祭としてささげ、またこれを主の前に揺り動かして揺祭としなければならない。

And the priest shall take one of the he-lambs, and offer him for a trespass-offering, and the log of oil, and wave them for a wave-offering before Jehovah:

この雄の小羊は罪祭および燔祭をほふる場所、すなわち聖なる所で、これをほふらなければならない。愆祭は罪祭と同じく、祭司に帰するものであって、いと聖なる物である。

and he shall kill the he-lamb in the place where they kill the sin-offering and the burnt-offering, in the place of the sanctuary: for as the sin-offering is the priest`s, so is the trespass-offering: it is most holy:

そして祭司はその愆祭の血を取り、これを清められる者の右の耳たぶと、右の手の親指と、右の足の親指とにつけなければならない。

and the priest shall take of the blood of the trespass-offering, and the priest shall put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot.

祭司はまた一ログの油を取って、これを自分の左の手のひらに注ぎ、

And the priest shall take of the log of oil, and pour it into the palm of his own left hand;

そして祭司は右の指を左の手のひらにある油に浸し、その指をもって、その油を七たび主の前に注がなければならない。

and the priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and shall sprinkle of the oil with his finger seven times before Jehovah:

祭司は手のひらにある油の残りを、清められる者の右の耳たぶと、右の手の親指と、右の足の親指とに、さきにつけた愆祭の血の上につけなければならない。

and of the rest of the oil that is in his hand shall the priest put upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the trespass-offering:

そして祭司は手のひらになお残っている油を、清められる者の頭につけ、主の前で、その人のためにあがないをしなければならない。

and the rest of the oil that is in the priest`s hand he shall put upon the head of him that is to be cleansed: and the priest shall make atonement for him before Jehovah.

また祭司は罪祭をささげて、汚れのゆえに、清められねばならぬ者のためにあがないをし、その後、燔祭のものをほふらなければならない。

And the priest shall offer the sin-offering, and make atonement for him that is to be cleansed because of his uncleanness: and afterward he shall kill the burnt-offering;

そして祭司は燔祭と素祭とを祭壇の上にささげ、その人のために、あがないをしなければならない。こうしてその人は清くなるであろう。

and the priest shall offer the burnt-offering and the meal-offering upon the altar: and the priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be clean.

その人がもし貧しくて、それに手の届かない時は、自分のあがないのために揺り動かす愆祭として、雄の小羊一頭を取り、また素祭として油を混ぜた麦粉十分の一エパと、油一ログとを取り、

And if he be poor, and cannot get so much, then he shall take one he-lamb for a trespass-offering to be waved, to make atonement for him, and one tenth part [of an ephah] of fine flour mingled with oil for a meal-offering, and a log of oil;

さらにその手の届く山ばと二羽、または家ばとのひな二羽を取らなければならない。その一つは罪祭のため、他の一つは燔祭のためである。

and two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, such as he is able to get; and the one shall be a sin-offering, and the other a burnt-offering.

そして八日目に、その清めのために会見の幕屋の入口におる祭司のもと、主の前にこれを携えて行かなければならない。

And on the eighth day he shall bring them for his cleansing unto the priest, unto the door of the tent of meeting, before Jehovah:

祭司はその愆祭の雄の小羊と、一ログの油とを取り、これを主の前に揺り動かして揺祭としなければならない。

and the priest shall take the lamb of the trespass-offering, and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them for a wave-offering before Jehovah.

そして祭司は愆祭の雄の小羊をほふり、その愆祭の血を取って、これを清められる者の右の耳たぶと、右の手の親指と、右の足の親指とにつけなければならない。

And he shall kill the lamb of the trespass-offering; and the priest shall take of the blood of the trespass-offering, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot.

また祭司はその油を自分の左の手のひらに注ぎ、

And the priest shall pour of the oil into the palm of his own left hand;

祭司はその右の指をもって、左の手のひらにある油を、七たび主の前に注がなければならない。

and the priest shall sprinkle with his right finger some of the oil that is in his left hand seven times before Jehovah:

また祭司はその手のひらにある油を、清められる者の右の耳たぶと、右の手の親指と、右の足の親指とに、すなわち、愆祭の血をつけたところにつけなければならない。

and the priest shall put of the oil that is in his hand upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot, upon the place of the blood of the trespass-offering:

また祭司は手のひらに残っている油を、清められる者の頭につけ、主の前で、その人のために、あがないをしなければならない。

and the rest of the oil that is in the priest`s hand he shall put upon the head of him that is to be cleansed, to make atonement for him before Jehovah.

その人はその手の届く山ばと一羽、または家ばとのひな一羽をささげなければならない。

And he shall offer one of the turtle-doves, or of the young pigeons, such as he is able to get,

すなわち、その手の届くものの一つを罪祭とし、他の一つを燔祭として素祭と共にささげなければならない。こうして祭司は清められる者のために、主の前にあがないをするであろう。

even such as he is able to get, the one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering, with the meal-offering: and the priest shall make atonement for him that is to be cleansed before Jehovah.

これはらい病の患者で、その清めに必要なものに、手の届かない者のためのおきてである」。

This is the law of him in whom is the plague of leprosy, who is not able to get [that which pertaineth] to his cleansing.

主はまたモーセとアロンに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

「あなたがたに所有として与えるカナンの地に、あなたがたがはいる時、その所有の地において、家にわたしがらい病の患部を生じさせることがあれば、

When ye are come into the land of Canaan, which I give to you for a possession, and I put the plague of leprosy in a house of the land of your possession;

その家の持ち主はきて、祭司に告げ、『患部のようなものが、わたしの家にあります』と言わなければならない。

then he that owneth the house shall come and tell the priest, saying, There seemeth to me to be as it were a plague in the house.

祭司は命じて、祭司がその患部を見に行く前に、その家をあけさせ、その家にあるすべての物が汚されないようにし、その後、祭司は、はいってその家を見なければならない。

And the priest shall command that they empty the house, before the priest goeth in to see the plague, that all that is in the house be not made unclean: and afterward the priest shall go in to see the house:

その患部を見て、もしその患部が家の壁にあって、青または赤のくぼみをもち、それが壁よりも低く見えるならば、

and he shall look on the plague; and, behold, if the plague be in the walls of the house with hollow streaks, greenish or reddish, and the appearance thereof be lower than the wall;

祭司はその家を出て、家の入口にいたり、七日の間その家を閉鎖しなければならない。

then the priest shall go out of the house to the door of the house, and shut up the house seven days.

祭司は七日目に、またきてそれを見、その患部がもし家の壁に広がっているならば、

And the priest shall come again the seventh day, and shall look; and, behold, if the plague be spread in the walls of the house;

祭司は命じて、その患部のある石を取り出し、町の外の汚れた物を捨てる場所に捨てさせ、

then the priest shall command that they take out the stones in which the plague is, and cast them into an unclean place without the city:

またその家の内側のまわりを削らせ、その削ったしっくいを町の外の汚れた物を捨てる場所に捨てさせ、

and he shall cause the house to be scraped within round about, and they shall pour out the mortar, that they scrape off, without the city into an unclean place:

ほかの石を取って、元の石のところに入れさせ、またほかのしっくいを取って、家を塗らせなければならない。

and they shall take other stones, and put them in the place of those stones; and he shall take other mortar, and shall plaster the house.

このように石を取り出し、家を削り、塗りかえた後に、その患部がもし再び家に出るならば、

And if the plague come again, and break out in the house, after that he hath taken out the stones, and after he hath scraped the house, and after it is plastered;

祭司はまたきて見なければならない。患部がもし家に広がっているならば、これは家にある悪性のらい病であって、これは汚れた物である。

then the priest shall come in and look; and, behold, if the plague be spread in the house, it is a fretting leprosy in the house: it is unclean.

その家は、こぼち、その石、その木、その家のしっくいは、ことごとく町の外の汚れた物を捨てる場所に運び出さなければならない。

And he shall break down the house, the stones of it, and the timber thereof, and all the mortar of the house; and he shall carry them forth out of the city into an unclean place.

その家が閉鎖されている日の間に、これにはいる者は夕まで汚れるであろう。

Moreover he that goeth into the house all the while that it is shut up shall be unclean until the even.

その家に寝る者はその衣服を洗わなければならない。その家で食する者も、その衣服を洗わなければならない。

And he that lieth in the house shall wash his clothes; and he that eateth in the house shall wash his clothes.

しかし、祭司がはいって見て、もし家を塗りかえた後に、その患部が家に広がっていなければ、これはその患部がいえたのであるから、祭司はその家を清いものとしなければならない。

And if the priest shall come in, and look, and, behold, the plague hath not spread in the house, after the house was plastered; then the priest shall pronounce the house clean, because the plague is healed.

また彼はその家を清めるために、小鳥二羽と、香柏の木と、緋の糸と、ヒソプとを取り、

And he shall take to cleanse the house two birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop:

その小鳥の一羽を流れ水を盛った土の器の上で殺し、

and he shall kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water:

香柏の木と、ヒソプと、緋の糸と、生きている小鳥とを取って、その殺した小鳥の血と流れ水に浸し、これを七たび家に注がなければならない。

and he shall take the cedar wood, and the hyssop, and the scarlet, and the living bird, and dip them in the blood of the slain bird, and in the running water, and sprinkle the house seven times:

こうして祭司は小鳥の血と流れ水と、生きている小鳥と、香柏の木と、ヒソプと、緋の糸とをもって家を清め、

and he shall cleanse the house with the blood of the bird, and with the running water, and with the living bird, and with the cedar wood, and with the hyssop, and with the scarlet:

その生きている小鳥は町の外の野に放して、その家のために、あがないをしなければならない。こうして、それは清くなるであろう」。

but he shall let got the living bird out of the city into the open field: so shall he make atonement for the house; and it shall be clean.

これはらい病のすべての患部、かいせん、

This is the law for all manner of plague of leprosy, and for a scall,

および衣服と家のらい病、

and for the leprosy of a garment, and for a house,

ならびに腫と、吹出物と、光る所とに関するおきてであって、

and for a rising, and for a scab, and for a bright spot;

いつそれが汚れているか、いつそれが清いかを教えるものである。これがらい病に関するおきてである。

to teach when it is unclean, and when it is clean: this is the law of leprosy.

第15章

主はまた、モーセとアロンに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying,

「イスラエルの人々に言いなさい、『だれでもその肉に流出があれば、その流出は汚れである。

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When any man hath an issue out of his flesh, because of his issue he is unclean.

その流出による汚れは次のとおりである。すなわち、その肉の流出が続いていても、あるいは、その肉の流出が止まっていても、共に汚れである。

And this shall be his uncleanness in his issue: whether his flesh run with his issue, or his flesh be stopped from his issue, it is his uncleanness.

流出ある者の寝た床はすべて汚れる。またその人のすわった物はすべて汚れるであろう。

Every bed whereon he that hath the issue lieth shall be unclean; and everything whereon he sitteth shall be unclean.

その床に触れる者は、その衣服を洗い、水に身をすすがなければならない。彼は夕まで汚れるであろう。

And whosoever toucheth his bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

流出ある者のすわった物の上にすわる者は、その衣服を洗い、水に身をすすがなければならない。彼は夕まで汚れるであろう。

And he that sitteth on anything whereon he that hath the issue sat shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

流出ある者の肉に触れる者は衣服を洗い、水に身をすすがなければならない。彼は夕まで汚れるであろう。

And he that toucheth the flesh of him that hath the issue shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

流出ある者のつばきが、清い者にかかったならば、その人は衣服を洗い、水に身をすすがなければならない。彼は夕まで汚れるであろう。

And if he that hath the issue spit upon him that is clean, then he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

流出ある者の乗った鞍はすべて汚れる。

And what saddle soever he that hath the issue rideth upon shall be unclean.

また彼の下になった物に触れる者は、すべて夕まで汚れるであろう。またそれらの物を運ぶ者は、その衣服を洗い、水に身をすすがなければならない。彼は夕まで汚れるであろう。

And whosoever toucheth anything that was under him shall be unclean until the even: and he that beareth those things shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

流出ある者が、水で手を洗わずに人に触れるならば、その人は衣服を洗い、水に身をすすがなければならない。彼は夕まで汚れるであろう。

And whomsoever he that hath the issue toucheth, without having rinsed his hands in water, he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

流出ある者が触れた土の器は砕かなければならない。木の器はすべて水で洗わなければならない。

And the earthen vessel, which he that hath the issue toucheth, shall be broken; and every vessel of wood shall be rinsed in water.

流出ある者の流出がやんで清くなるならば、清めのために七日を数え、その衣服を洗い、流れ水に身をすすがなければならない。そうして清くなるであろう。

And when he that hath an issue is cleansed of his issue, then he shall number to himself seven days for his cleansing, and wash his clothes; and he shall bathe his flesh in running water, and shall be clean.

八日目に、山ばと二羽、または家ばとのひな二羽を取って、会見の幕屋の入口に行き、主の前に出て、それを祭司に渡さなければならない。

And on the eighth day he shall take to him two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, and come before Jehovah unto the door of the tent of meeting, and give them unto the priest:

祭司はその一つを罪祭とし、他の一つを燔祭としてささげなければならない。こうして祭司はその人のため、その流出のために主の前に、あがないをするであろう。

and the priest shall offer them, the one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering; and the priest shall make atonement for him before Jehovah for his issue.

人がもし精を漏らすことがあれば、その全身を水にすすがなければならない。彼は夕まで汚れるであろう。

And if any man`s seed of copulation go out from him, then he shall bathe all his flesh in water, and be unclean until the even.

すべて精のついた衣服および皮で作った物は水で洗わなければならない。これは夕まで汚れるであろう。

And every garment, and every skin, whereon is the seed of copulation, shall be washed with water, and be unclean until the even.

男がもし女と寝て精を漏らすことがあれば、彼らは共に水に身をすすがなければならない。彼らは夕まで汚れるであろう。

The woman also with whom a man shall lie with seed of copulation, they shall both bathe themselves in water, and be unclean until the even.

また女に流出があって、その身の流出がもし血であるならば、その女は七日のあいだ不浄である。すべてその女に触れる者は夕まで汚れるであろう。

And if a woman have an issue, [and] her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be in her impurity seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even.

その不浄の間に、その女の寝た物はすべて汚れる。またその女のすわった物も、すべて汚れるであろう。

And everything that she lieth upon in her impurity shall be unclean: everything also that she sitteth upon shall be unclean.

すべてその女の床に触れる者は、その衣服を洗い、水に身をすすがなければならない。彼は夕まで汚れるであろう。

And whosoever toucheth her bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

すべてその女のすわった物に触れる者は皆その衣服を洗い、水に身をすすがなければならない。彼は夕まで汚れるであろう。

And whosoever toucheth anything that she sitteth upon shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

またその女が床の上、またはすわる物の上におる時、それに触れるならば、その人は夕まで汚れるであろう。

And if it be on the bed, or on anything whereon she sitteth, when he toucheth it, he shall be unclean until the even.

男がもし、その女と寝て、その不浄を身にうけるならば、彼は七日のあいだ汚れるであろう。また彼の寝た床はすべて汚れるであろう。

And if any man lie with her, and her impurity be upon him, he shall be unclean seven days; and every bed whereon he lieth shall be unclean.

女にもし、その不浄の時のほかに、多くの日にわたって血の流出があるか、あるいはその不浄の時を越して流出があれば、その汚れの流出の日の間は、すべてその不浄の時と同じように、その女は汚れた者である。

And if a woman have an issue of her blood many days not in the time of her impurity, or if she have an issue beyond the time of her impurity; all the days of the issue of her uncleanness she shall be as in the days of her impurity: she is unclean.

その流出の日の間に、その女の寝た床は、すべてその女の不浄の時の床と同じようになる。すべてその女のすわった物は、不浄の汚れのように汚れるであろう。

Every bed whereon she lieth all the days of her issue shall be unto her as the bed of her impurity: and everything whereon she sitteth shall be unclean, as the uncleanness of her impurity.

すべてこれらの物に触れる人は汚れる。その衣服を洗い、水に身をすすがなければならない。彼は夕まで汚れるであろう。

And whosoever toucheth those things shall be unclean, and shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

しかし、その女の流出がやんで、清くなるならば、自分のために、なお七日を数えなければならない。そして後、清くなるであろう。

But if she be cleansed of her issue, then she shall number to herself seven days, and after that she shall be clean.

その女は八日目に山ばと二羽、または家ばとのひな二羽を自分のために取り、それを会見の幕屋の入口におる祭司のもとに携えて行かなければならない。

And on the eighth day she shall take unto her two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, and bring them unto the priest, to the door of the tent of meeting.

祭司はその一つを罪祭とし、他の一つを燔祭としてささげなければならない。こうして祭司はその女のため、その汚れの流出のために主の前に、あがないをするであろう。

And the priest shall offer the one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering; and the priest shall make atonement for her before Jehovah for the issue of her uncleanness.

このようにしてあなたがたは、イスラエルの人々を汚れから離さなければならない。これは彼らのうちにあるわたしの幕屋を彼らが汚し、その汚れのために死ぬことのないためである』」。

Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness, that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that is in the midst of them.

これは流出ある者、精を漏らして汚れる者、

This is the law of him that hath an issue, and of him whose seed of copulation goeth from him, so that he is unclean thereby;

不浄をわずらう女、ならびに男あるいは女の流出ある者、および不浄の女と寝る者に関するおきてである。

and of her that is sick with her impurity, and of him that hath an issue, of the man, and of the woman, and of him that lieth with her that is unclean.

第16章

アロンのふたりの子が、主の前に近づいて死んだ後、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they drew near before Jehovah, and died;

主はモーセに言われた、「あなたの兄弟アロンに告げて、彼が時をわかたず、垂幕の内なる聖所に入り、箱の上なる贖罪所の前に行かぬようにさせなさい。彼が死を免れるためである。なぜなら、わたしは雲の中にあって贖罪所の上に現れるからである。

and Jehovah said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within the veil, before the mercy-seat which is upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy-seat.

アロンが聖所に、はいるには、次のようにしなければならない。すなわち雄の子牛を罪祭のために取り、雄羊を燔祭のために取り、

Herewith shall Aaron come into the holy place: with a young bullock for a sin-offering, and a ram for a burnt-offering.

聖なる亜麻布の服を着、亜麻布のももひきをその身にまとい、亜麻布の帯をしめ、亜麻布の帽子をかぶらなければならない。これらは聖なる衣服である。彼は水に身をすすいで、これを着なければならない。

He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen breeches upon his flesh, and shall be girded with the linen girdle, and with the linen mitre shall he be attired: they are the holy garments; and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and put them on.

またイスラエルの人々の会衆から雄やぎ二頭を罪祭のために取り、雄羊一頭を燔祭のために取らなければならない。

And he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel two he-goats for a sin-offering, and one ram for a burnt-offering.

そしてアロンは自分のための罪祭の雄牛をささげて、自分と自分の家族のために、あがないをしなければならない。

And Aaron shall present the bullock of the sin-offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself, and for his house.

アロンはまた二頭のやぎを取り、それを会見の幕屋の入口で主の前に立たせ、

And he shall take the two goats, and set them before Jehovah at the door of the tent of meeting.

その二頭のやぎのために、くじを引かなければならない。すなわち一つのくじは主のため、一つのくじはアザゼルのためである。

And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for Jehovah, and the other lot for Azazel.

そしてアロンは主のためのくじに当ったやぎをささげて、これを罪祭としなければならない。

And Aaron shall present the goat upon which the lot fell for Jehovah, and offer him for a sin-offering.

しかし、アザゼルのためのくじに当ったやぎは、主の前に生かしておき、これをもって、あがないをなし、これをアザゼルのために、荒野に送らなければならない。

But the goat, on which the lot fell for Azazel, shall be set alive before Jehovah, to make atonement for him, to send him away for Azazel into the wilderness.

すなわち、アロンは自分のための罪祭の雄牛をささげて、自分と自分の家族のために、あがないをしなければならない。彼は自分のための罪祭の雄牛をほふり、

And Aaron shall present the bullock of the sin-offering, which is for himself, and shall make atonement for himself, and for his house, and shall kill the bullock of the sin-offering which is for himself:

and he shall take a censer full of coals of fire from off the altar before Jehovah, and his hands full of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the veil:

主の前で薫香をその火にくべ、薫香の雲に、あかしの箱の上なる贖罪所をおおわせなければならない。こうして、彼は死を免れるであろう。

and he shall put the incense upon the fire before Jehovah, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy-seat that is upon the testimony, that he die not:

彼はまたその雄牛の血を取り、指をもってこれを贖罪所の東の面に注ぎ、また指をもってその血を贖罪所の前に、七たび注がなければならない。

and he shall take of the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it with his finger upon the mercy-seat on the east; and before the mercy-seat shall he sprinkle of the blood with his finger seven times.

また民のための罪祭のやぎをほふり、その血を垂幕の内に携え入り、その血をかの雄牛の血のように、贖罪所の上と、贖罪所の前に注ぎ、

Then shall he kill the goat of the sin-offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the veil, and do with his blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy-seat, and before the mercy-seat:

イスラエルの人々の汚れと、そのとが、すなわち、彼らのもろもろの罪のゆえに、聖所のためにあがないをしなければならない。また彼らの汚れのうちに、彼らと共にある会見の幕屋のためにも、そのようにしなければならない。

and he shall make atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleannesses of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions, even all their sins: and so shall he do for the tent of meeting, that dwelleth with them in the midst of their uncleannesses.

彼が聖所であがないをするために、はいった時は、自分と自分の家族と、イスラエルの全会衆とのために、あがないをなし終えて出るまで、だれも会見の幕屋の内にいてはならない。

And there shall be no man in the tent of meeting when he goeth in to make atonement in the holy place, until he come out, and have made atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the assembly of Israel.

そして彼は主の前の祭壇のもとに出てきて、これがために、あがないをしなければならない、すなわち、かの雄牛の血と、やぎの血とを取って祭壇の四すみの角につけ、

And he shall go out unto the altar that is before Jehovah, and make atonement for it, and shall take of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about.

また指をもって七たびその血をその上に注ぎ、イスラエルの人々の汚れを除いてこれを清くし、聖別しなければならない。

And he shall sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and hallow it from the uncleannesses of the children of Israel.

こうして聖所と会見の幕屋と祭壇とのために、あがないをなし終えたとき、かの生きているやぎを引いてこなければならない。

And when he hath made an end of atoning for the holy place, and the tent of meeting, and the altar, he shall present the live goat:

そしてアロンは、その生きているやぎの頭に両手をおき、イスラエルの人々のもろもろの悪と、もろもろのとが、すなわち、彼らのもろもろの罪をその上に告白して、これをやぎの頭にのせ、定めておいた人の手によって、これを荒野に送らなければならない。

and Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions, even all their sins; and he shall put them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a man that is in readiness into the wilderness:

こうしてやぎは彼らのもろもろの悪をになって、人里離れた地に行くであろう。すなわち、そのやぎを荒野に送らなければならない。

and the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a solitary land: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness.

そして、アロンは会見の幕屋に入り、聖所に入る時に着た亜麻布の衣服を脱いで、そこに置き、

And Aaron shall come into the tent of meeting, and shall put off the linen garments, which he put on when he went into the holy place, and shall leave them there:

聖なる所で水に身をすすぎ、他の衣服を着、出てきて、自分の燔祭と民の燔祭とをささげて、自分のため、また民のために、あがないをしなければならない。

and he shall bathe his flesh in water in a holy place, and put on his garments, and come forth, and offer his burnt-offering and the burnt-offering of the people, and make atonement for himself and for the people.

また罪祭の脂肪を祭壇の上で焼かなければならない。

And the fat of the sin-offering shall he burn upon the altar.

かのやぎをアザゼルに送った者は衣服を洗い、水に身をすすがなければならない。その後、宿営に入ることができる。

And he that letteth go the goat for Azazel shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp.

聖所で、あがないをするために、その血を携え入れられた罪祭の雄牛と、罪祭のやぎとは、宿営の外に携え出し、その皮と肉と汚物とは、火で焼き捨てなければならない。

And the bullock of the sin-offering, and the goat of the sin-offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, shall be carried forth without the camp; and they shall burn in the fire their skins, and their flesh, and their dung.

これを焼く者は衣服を洗い、水に身をすすがなければならない。その後、宿営に入ることができる。

And he that burneth them shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp.

これはあなたがたが永久に守るべき定めである。すなわち、七月になって、その月の十日に、あなたがたは身を悩まし、何の仕事もしてはならない。この国に生れた者も、あなたがたのうちに宿っている寄留者も、そうしなければならない。

And it shall be a statute for ever unto you: in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and shall do no manner of work, the home-born, or the stranger that sojourneth among you:

この日にあなたがたのため、あなたがたを清めるために、あがないがなされ、あなたがたは主の前に、もろもろの罪が清められるからである。

for on this day shall atonement be made for you, to cleanse you; from all your sins shall ye be clean before Jehovah.

これはあなたがたの全き休みの安息日であって、あなたがたは身を悩まさなければならない。これは永久に守るべき定めである。

It is a sabbath of solemn rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls; it is a statute for ever.

油を注がれ、父に代って祭司の職に任じられる祭司は、亜麻布の衣服、すなわち、聖なる衣服を着て、あがないをしなければならない。

And the priest, who shall be anointed and who shall be consecrated to be priest in his father`s stead, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen garments, even the holy garments:

彼は至聖所のために、あがないをなし、また会見の幕屋のためと、祭壇のために、あがないをなし、また祭司たちのためと、民の全会衆のために、あがないをしなければならない。

and he shall make atonement for the holy sanctuary; and he shall make atonement for the tent of meeting and for the altar; and he shall make atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly.

これはあなたがたの永久に守るべき定めであって、イスラエルの人々のもろもろの罪のために、年に一度あがないをするものである」。彼は主がモーセに命じられたとおりにおこなった。

And this shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make atonement for the children of Israel because of all their sins once in the year. And he did as Jehovah commanded Moses.

第17章

主はまたモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「アロンとその子たち、およびイスラエルのすべての人々に言いなさい、『主が命じられることはこれである。すなわち

Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them: This is the thing which Jehovah hath commanded, saying,

イスラエルの家のだれでも、牛、羊あるいは、やぎを宿営の内でほふり、または宿営の外でほふり、

What man soever there be of the house of Israel, that killeth an ox, or lamb, or goat, in the camp, or that killeth it without the camp,

それを会見の幕屋の入口に携えてきて主の幕屋の前で、供え物として主にささげないならば、その人は血を流した者とみなされる。彼は血を流したゆえ、その民のうちから断たれるであろう。

and hath not brought it unto the door of the tent of meeting, to offer it as an oblation unto Jehovah before the tabernacle of Jehovah: blood shall be imputed unto that man; he hath shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people:

これはイスラエルの人々に、彼らが野のおもてでほふるのを常としていた犠牲を主のもとにひいてこさせ、会見の幕屋の入口におる祭司のもとにきて、これを主にささげる酬恩祭の犠牲としてほふらせるためである。

To the end that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they sacrifice in the open field, even that they may bring them unto Jehovah, unto the door of the tent of meeting, unto the priest, and sacrifice them for sacrifices of peace-offerings unto Jehovah.

祭司はその血を会見の幕屋の入口にある主の祭壇に注ぎかけ、またその脂肪を焼いて香ばしいかおりとし、主にささげなければならない。

And the priest shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar of Jehovah at the door of the tent of meeting, and burn the fat for a sweet savor unto Jehovah.

彼らが慕って姦淫をおこなったみだらな神に、再び犠牲をささげてはならない。これは彼らが代々ながく守るべき定めである』。

And they shall no more sacrifice their sacrifices unto the he-goats, after which they play the harlot. This shall be a statute forever unto them throughout their generations.

あなたはまた彼らに言いなさい、『イスラエルの家の者、またはあなたがたのうちに宿る寄留者のだれでも、燔祭あるいは犠牲をささげるのに、

And thou shalt say unto them, Whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, that offereth a burnt-offering or sacrifice,

これを会見の幕屋の入口に携えてきて、主にささげないならば、その人は、その民のうちから断たれるであろう。

and bringeth it not unto the door of the tent of meeting, to sacrifice it unto Jehovah; that man shall be cut off from his people.

イスラエルの家の者、またはあなたがたのうちに宿る寄留者のだれでも、血を食べるならば、わたしはその血を食べる人に敵して、わたしの顔を向け、これをその民のうちから断つであろう。

And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, that eateth any manner of blood, I will set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.

肉の命は血にあるからである。あなたがたの魂のために祭壇の上で、あがないをするため、わたしはこれをあなたがたに与えた。血は命であるゆえに、あがなうことができるからである。

For the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh atonement by reason of the life.

このゆえに、わたしはイスラエルの人々に言った。あなたがたのうち、だれも血を食べてはならない。またあなたがたのうちに宿る寄留者も血を食べてはならない。

Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood.

イスラエルの人々のうち、またあなたがたのうちに宿る寄留者のうち、だれでも、食べてもよい獣あるいは鳥を狩り獲た者は、その血を注ぎ出し、土でこれをおおわなければならない。

And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, who taketh in hunting any beast or bird that may be eaten; he shall pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust.

すべて肉の命は、その血と一つだからである。それで、わたしはイスラエルの人々に言った。あなたがたは、どんな肉の血も食べてはならない。すべて肉の命はその血だからである。すべて血を食べる者は断たれるであろう。

For as to the life of all flesh, the blood thereof is [all one] with the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh; for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.

自然に死んだもの、または裂き殺されたものを食べる人は、国に生れた者であれ、寄留者であれ、その衣服を洗い、水に身をすすがなければならない。彼は夕まで汚れているが、その後、清くなるであろう。

And every soul that eateth that which dieth of itself, or that which is torn of beasts, whether he be home-born or a sojourner, he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even: then shall he be clean.

But if he wash them not, nor bathe his flesh, then he shall bear his iniquity.

第18章

主はまたモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「イスラエルの人々に言いなさい、『わたしはあなたがたの神、主である。

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am Jehovah your God.

あなたがたの住んでいたエジプトの国の習慣を見習ってはならない。またわたしがあなたがたを導き入れるカナンの国の習慣を見習ってはならない。また彼らの定めに歩んではならない。

After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do; neither shall ye walk in their statutes.

わたしのおきてを行い、わたしの定めを守り、それに歩まなければならない。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である。

Mine ordinances shall ye do, and my statutes shall ye keep, to walk therein: I am Jehovah your God.

あなたがたはわたしの定めとわたしのおきてを守らなければならない。もし人が、これを行うならば、これによって生きるであろう。わたしは主である。

Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and mine ordinances; which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am Jehovah.

None of you shall approach to any that are near of kin to him, to uncover [their] nakedness: I am Jehovah.

あなたの母を犯してはならない。それはあなたの父をはずかしめることだからである。彼女はあなたの母であるから、これを犯してはならない。

The nakedness of thy father, even the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.

The nakedness of thy father`s wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy father`s nakedness.

The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or the daughter of thy mother, whether born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover.

あなたのむすこの娘、あるいは、あなたの娘の娘を犯してはならない。それはあなた自身をはずかしめることだからである。

The nakedness of thy son`s daughter, or of thy daughter`s daughter, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover: for theirs is thine own nakedness.

The nakedness of thy father`s wife`s daughter, begotten of thy father, she is thy sister, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.

Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father`s sister: she is thy father`s near kinswoman.

Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother`s sister: for she is thy mother`s near kinswoman.

Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father`s brother, thou shalt not approach to his wife: she is thine aunt.

Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter-in-law: she is thy son`s wife; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.

Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother`s wife: it is thy brother`s nakedness.

And thou shalt not take a wife to her sister, to be a rival [to her], to uncover her nakedness, besides the other in her life-time.

And thou shalt not approach unto a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is impure by her uncleanness.

And thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbor`s wife, to defile thyself with her.

And thou shalt not give any of thy seed to make them pass through [the fire] to Molech; neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am Jehovah.

あなたは女と寝るように男と寝てはならない。これは憎むべきことである。

Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

あなたは獣と交わり、これによって身を汚してはならない。また女も獣の前に立って、これと交わってはならない。これは道にはずれたことである。

And thou shalt not lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith; neither shall any woman stand before a beast, to lie down thereto: it is confusion.

あなたがたはこれらのもろもろの事によって身を汚してはならない。わたしがあなたがたの前から追い払う国々の人は、これらのもろもろの事によって汚れ、

Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out from before you;

その地もまた汚れている。ゆえに、わたしはその悪のためにこれを罰し、その地もまたその住民を吐き出すのである。

And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land vomiteth out her inhabitants.

ゆえに、あなたがたはわたしの定めとわたしのおきてを守り、これらのもろもろの憎むべき事の一つでも行ってはならない。国に生れた者も、あなたがたのうちに宿っている寄留者もそうである。

Ye therefore shall keep my statutes and mine ordinances, and shall not do any of these abominations; neither the home-born, nor the stranger that sojourneth among you;

あなたがたの先にいたこの地の人々は、これらのもろもろの憎むべき事を行ったので、その地も汚れたからである。

(for all these abominations have the men of the land done, that were before you, and the land is defiled);

これは、あなたがたがこの地を汚して、この地があなたがたの先にいた民を吐き出したように、あなたがたをも吐き出すことのないためである。

that the land vomit not you out also, when ye defile it, as it vomited out the nation that was before you.

これらのもろもろの憎むべき事の一つでも行う者があれば、これを行う人は、だれでもその民のうちから断たれるであろう。

For whosoever shall do any of these abominations, even the souls that do them shall be cut off from among their people.

それゆえに、あなたがたはわたしの言いつけを守り、先に行われたこれらの憎むべき風習の一つをも行ってはならない。またこれによって身を汚してはならない。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である』」。

Therefore shall ye keep my charge, that ye practise not any of these abominable customs, which were practised before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am Jehovah your God.

第19章

主はモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「イスラエルの人々の全会衆に言いなさい、『あなたがたの神、主なるわたしは、聖であるから、あなたがたも聖でなければならない。

Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy; for I Jehovah your God am holy.

あなたがたは、おのおのその母とその父とをおそれなければならない。またわたしの安息日を守らなければならない。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である。

Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father; and ye shall keep my sabbaths: I am Jehovah your God.

むなしい神々に心を寄せてはならない。また自分のために神々を鋳て造ってはならない。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である。

Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am Jehovah your God.

酬恩祭の犠牲を主にささげるときは、あなたがたが受け入れられるように、それをささげなければならない。

And when ye offer a sacrifice of peace-offerings unto Jehovah, ye shall offer it that ye may be accepted.

それは、ささげた日と、その翌日とに食べ、三日目まで残ったものは、それを火で焼かなければならない。

It shall be eaten the same day ye offer it, and on the morrow: and if aught remain until the third day, it shall be burnt with fire.

もし三日目に、少しでも食べるならば、それは忌むべきものとなって、あなたは受け入れられないであろう。

And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is an abomination; it shall not be accepted:

それを食べる者は、主の聖なる物を汚すので、そのとがを負わなければならない。その人は民のうちから断たれるであろう。

but every one that eateth it shall bear his iniquity, because he hath profaned the holy thing of Jehovah: and that soul shall be cut off from his people.

あなたがたの地の実のりを刈り入れるときは、畑のすみずみまで刈りつくしてはならない。またあなたの刈入れの落ち穂を拾ってはならない。

And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleaning of thy harvest.

あなたのぶどう畑の実を取りつくしてはならない。またあなたのぶどう畑に落ちた実を拾ってはならない。貧しい者と寄留者とのために、これを残しておかなければならない。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である。

And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather the fallen fruit of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am Jehovah your God.

あなたがたは盗んではならない。欺いてはならない。互に偽ってはならない。

Ye shall not steal; neither shall ye deal falsely, nor lie one to another.

わたしの名により偽り誓って、あなたがたの神の名を汚してはならない。わたしは主である。

And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, and profane the name of thy God: I am Jehovah.

あなたの隣人をしえたげてはならない。また、かすめてはならない。日雇人の賃銀を明くる朝まで、あなたのもとにとどめておいてはならない。

Thou shalt not oppress thy neighbor, nor rob him: the wages of a hired servant shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.

耳しいを、のろってはならない。目しいの前につまずく物を置いてはならない。あなたの神を恐れなければならない。わたしは主である。

Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind; but thou shalt fear thy God: I am Jehovah.

さばきをするとき、不正を行ってはならない。貧しい者を片よってかばい、力ある者を曲げて助けてはならない。ただ正義をもって隣人をさばかなければならない。

Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty; but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbor.

民のうちを行き巡って、人の悪口を言いふらしてはならない。あなたの隣人の血にかかわる偽証をしてはならない。わたしは主である。

Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbor: I am Jehovah.

あなたは心に兄弟を憎んではならない。あなたの隣人をねんごろにいさめて、彼のゆえに罪を身に負ってはならない。

Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thy heart: thou shalt surely rebuke thy neighbor, and not bear sin because of him.

あなたはあだを返してはならない。あなたの民の人々に恨みをいだいてはならない。あなた自身のようにあなたの隣人を愛さなければならない。わたしは主である。

Thou shalt not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people; but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am Jehovah.

あなたがたはわたしの定めを守らなければならない。あなたの家畜に異なった種をかけてはならない。あなたの畑に二種の種をまいてはならない。二種の糸の混ぜ織りの衣服を身につけてはならない。

Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with two kinds of seed: neither shall there come upon thee a garment of two kinds of stuff mingled together.

だれでも、人と婚約のある女奴隷で、まだあがなわれず、自由を与えられていない者と寝て交わったならば、彼らふたりは罰を受ける。しかし、殺されることはない。彼女は自由の女ではないからである。

And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to a husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; they shall be punished; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free.

しかし、その男は愆祭を主に携えてこなければならない。すなわち、愆祭の雄羊を、会見の幕屋の入口に連れてこなければならない。

And he shall bring his trespass-offering unto Jehovah, unto the door of the tent of meeting, even a ram for a trespass-offering.

And the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass-offering before Jehovah for his sin which he hath sinned: and the sin which he hath sinned shall be forgiven him.

あなたがたが、かの地にはいって、もろもろのくだものの木を植えるときは、その実はまだ割礼をうけないものと、見なさなければならない。すなわち、それは三年の間あなたがたには、割礼のないものであって、食べてはならない。

And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as their uncircumcision: three years shall they be as uncircumcised unto you; it shall not be eaten.

四年目には、そのすべての実を聖なる物とし、それをさんびの供え物として主にささげなければならない。

But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy, for giving praise unto Jehovah.

しかし五年目には、あなたがたはその実を食べることができるであろう。こうするならば、それはあなたがたのために、多くの実を結ぶであろう。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である。

And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof: I am Jehovah your God.

あなたがたは何をも血のままで食べてはならない。また占いをしてはならない。魔法を行ってはならない。

Ye shall not eat anything with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantments, nor practise augury.

あなたがたのびんの毛を切ってはならない。ひげの両端をそこなってはならない。

Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.

死人のために身を傷つけてはならない。また身に入墨をしてはならない。わたしは主である。

Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am Jehovah.

あなたの娘に遊女のわざをさせて、これを汚してはならない。これはみだらな事が国に行われ、悪事が地に満ちないためである。

Profane not thy daughter, to make her a harlot; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.

あなたがたはわたしの安息日を守り、わたしの聖所を敬わなければならない。わたしは主である。

Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary; I am Jehovah.

あなたがたは口寄せ、または占い師のもとにおもむいてはならない。彼らに問うて汚されてはならない。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である。

Turn ye not unto them that have familiar spirits, nor unto the wizards; seek them not out, to be defiled by them: I am Jehovah your God.

あなたは白髪の人の前では、起立しなければならない。また老人を敬い、あなたの神を恐れなければならない。わたしは主である。

Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honor the face of the old man, and thou shalt fear thy God: I am Jehovah.

もし他国人があなたがたの国に寄留して共にいるならば、これをしえたげてはならない。

And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not do him wrong.

あなたがたと共にいる寄留の他国人を、あなたがたと同じ国に生れた者のようにし、あなた自身のようにこれを愛さなければならない。あなたがたもかつてエジプトの国で他国人であったからである。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である。

The stranger that sojourneth with you shall be unto you as the home-born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were sojourners in the land of Egypt: I am Jehovah your God.

あなたがたは、さばきにおいても、物差しにおいても、はかりにおいても、ますにおいても、不正を行ってはならない。

Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in measures of length, of weight, or of quantity.

あなたがたは正しいてんびん、正しいおもり石、正しいエパ、正しいヒンを使わなければならない。わたしは、あなたがたをエジプトの国から導き出したあなたがたの神、主である。

Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am Jehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.

あなたがたはわたしのすべての定めと、わたしのすべてのおきてを守って、これを行わなければならない。わたしは主である』」。

And ye shall observe all my statutes, and all mine ordinances, and do them: I am Jehovah.

第20章

主はまたモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「イスラエルの人々に言いなさい、『イスラエルの人々のうち、またイスラエルのうちに寄留する他国人のうち、だれでもその子供をモレクにささげる者は、必ず殺されなければならない。すなわち、国の民は彼を石で撃たなければならない。

Moreover, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.

わたしは顔をその人に向け、彼を民のうちから断つであろう。彼がその子供をモレクにささげてわたしの聖所を汚し、またわたしの聖なる名を汚したからである。

I also will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name.

その人が子供をモレクにささげるとき、国の民がもしことさらに、この事に目をおおい、これを殺さないならば、

And if the people at the land do at all hide their eyes from that man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and put him not to death;

then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that play the harlot after him, to play the harlot with Molech, from among their people.

もし口寄せ、または占い師のもとにおもむき、彼らを慕って姦淫する者があれば、わたしは顔をその人に向け、これを民のうちから断つであろう。

And the soul that turneth unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto the wizards, to play the harlot after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.

ゆえにあなたがたは、みずからを聖別し、聖なる者とならなければならない。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である。

Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy; for I am Jehovah your God.

あなたがたはわたしの定めを守って、これを行わなければならない。わたしはあなたがたを聖別する主である。

And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am Jehovah who sanctifieth you.

だれでも父または母をのろう者は、必ず殺されなければならない。彼が父または母をのろったので、その血は彼に帰するであろう。

For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall surely be put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.

人の妻と姦淫する者、すなわち隣人の妻と姦淫する者があれば、その姦夫、姦婦は共に必ず殺されなければならない。

And the man that committeth adultery with another man`s wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbor`s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

その父の妻と寝る者は、その父をはずかしめる者である。彼らはふたりとも必ず殺されなければならない。その血は彼らに帰するであろう。

And the man that lieth with his father`s wife hath uncovered his father`s nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

子の妻と寝る者は、ふたり共に必ず殺されなければならない。彼らは道ならぬことをしたので、その血は彼らに帰するであろう。

And if a man lie with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death: they have wrought confusion; their blood shall be upon them.

女と寝るように男と寝る者は、ふたりとも憎むべき事をしたので、必ず殺されなければならない。その血は彼らに帰するであろう。

And if a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

女をその母と一緒にめとるならば、これは悪事であって、彼も、女たちも火に焼かれなければならない。このような悪事をあなたがたのうちになくするためである。

And if a man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you.

男がもし、獣と寝るならば彼は必ず殺されなければならない。あなたがたはまた、その獣を殺さなければならない。

And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast.

And if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

And if a man shall take his sister, his father`s daughter, or his mother`s daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a shameful thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of the children of their people: he hath uncovered his sister`s nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.

人がもし、月のさわりのある女と寝て、そのはだを現すならば、男は女の源を現し、女は自分の血の源を現したのであるから、ふたり共にその民のうちから断たれなければならない。

And if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness; he hath made naked her fountain, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.

あなたの母の姉妹、またはあなたの父の姉妹を犯してはならない。これは、自分の肉親の者を犯すことであるから、彼らはその罪を負わなければならない。

And thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother`s sister, nor of thy father`s sister; for he hath made naked his near kin: they shall bear their iniquity.

And if a man shall lie with his uncle`s wife, he hath uncovered his uncle`s nakedness: they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless.

And if a man shall take his brother`s wife, it is impurity: he hath uncovered his brother`s nakedness; they shall be childless.

Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all mine ordinances, and do them; that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, vomit you not out.

あなたがたの前からわたしが追い払う国びとの風習に、あなたがたは歩んではならない。彼らは、このもろもろのことをしたから、わたしは彼らを憎むのである。

And ye shall not walk in the customs of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they did all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.

わたしはあなたがたに言った、「あなたがたは、彼らの地を獲るであろう。わたしはこれをあなたがたに与えて、これを獲させるであろう。これは乳と蜜との流れる地である」。わたしはあなたがたを他の民から区別したあなたがたの神、主である。

But I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land flowing with milk and honey: I am Jehovah your God, who hath separated you from the peoples.

あなたがたは清い獣と汚れた獣、汚れた鳥と清い鳥を区別しなければならない。わたしがあなたがたのために汚れたものとして区別した獣、または鳥またはすべて地を這うものによって、あなたがたの身を忌むべきものとしてはならない。

Ye shall therefore make a distinction between the clean beast and the unclean, and between the unclean fowl and the clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by bird, or by anything wherewith the ground teemeth, which I have separated from you as unclean.

あなたがたはわたしに対して聖なる者でなければならない。主なるわたしは聖なる者で、あなたがたをわたしのものにしようと、他の民から区別したからである。

And ye shall be holy unto me: for I, Jehovah, am holy, and have set you apart from the peoples, that ye should be mine.

男または女で、口寄せ、または占いをする者は、必ず殺されなければならない。すなわち、石で撃ち殺さなければならない。その血は彼らに帰するであろう』」。

A man also or a woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones; their blood shall be upon them.

第21章

主はまたモーセに言われた、「アロンの子なる祭司たちに告げて言いなさい、『民のうちの死人のために、身を汚す者があってはならない。

And Jehovah said unto Moses, Speak unto the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say unto them, There shall none defile himself for the dead among his people;

ただし、近親の者、すなわち、父、母、むすこ、娘、兄弟のため、

except for his kin, that is near unto him, for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother,

また彼の近親で、まだ夫のない処女なる姉妹のためには、その身を汚してもよい。

and for his sister a virgin, that is near unto him, that hath had no husband; for her may he defile himself.

しかし、夫にとついだ姉妹のためには、身を汚してはならない。

He shall not defile himself, [being] a chief man among his people, to profane himself.

彼らは頭の頂をそってはならない。ひげの両端をそり落してはならない。また身に傷をつけてはならない。

They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.

彼らは神に対して聖でなければならない。また神の名を汚してはならない。彼らは主の火祭、すなわち、神の食物をささげる者であるから、聖でなければならない。

They shall be holy unto their God, and not profane the name of their God; for the offerings of Jehovah made by fire, the bread of their God, they do offer: therefore they shall be holy.

彼らは遊女や汚れた女をめとってはならない。また夫に出された女をめとってはならない。祭司は神に対して聖なる者だからである。

They shall not take a woman that is a harlot, or profane; neither shall they take a woman put away from her husband: for he is holy unto his God.

あなたは彼を聖としなければならない。彼はあなたの神の食物をささげる者だからである。彼はあなたにとって聖なる者でなければならない。あなたがたを聖とする主、すなわち、わたしは聖なる者だからである。

Thou shalt sanctify him therefore; for he offereth the bread of thy God: he shall be holy unto thee: for I Jehovah, who sanctify you, am holy.

祭司の娘である者が、淫行をなして、その身を汚すならば、その父を汚すのであるから、彼女を火で焼かなければならない。

And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the harlot, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.

その兄弟のうち、頭に注ぎ油を注がれ、職に任ぜられて、その衣服をつけ、大祭司となった者は、その髪の毛を乱してはならない。またその衣服を裂いてはならない。

And he that is the high priest among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil is poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not let the hair of his head go loose, nor rend his clothes;

死人のところに、はいってはならない。また父のためにも母のためにも身を汚してはならない。

neither shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother;

また聖所から出てはならない。神の聖所を汚してはならない。その神の注ぎ油による聖別が、彼の上にあるからである。わたしは主である。

neither shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the crown of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am Jehovah.

彼は処女を妻にめとらなければならない。

And he shall take a wife in her virginity.

寡婦、出された女、汚れた女、遊女などをめとってはならない。ただ、自分の民のうちの処女を、妻にめとらなければならない。

A widow, or one divorced, or a profane woman, a harlot, these shall he not take: but a virgin of his own people shall he take to wife.

そうすれば、彼は民のうちに、自分の子孫を汚すことはない。わたしは彼を聖別する主だからである』」。

And he shall not profane his seed among his people: for I am Jehovah who sanctifieth him.

主はまたモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「アロンに告げて言いなさい、『あなたの代々の子孫で、だれでも身にきずのある者は近寄って、神の食物をささげてはならない。

Speak unto Aaron, saying, Whosoever he be of thy seed throughout their generations that hath a blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God.

すべて、その身にきずのある者は近寄ってはならない。すなわち、目しい、足なえ、鼻のかけた者、手足の不つりあいの者、

For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or anything superfluous,

足の折れた者、手の折れた者、

or a man that is broken-footed, or broken-handed,

せむし、こびと、目にきずのある者、かいせんの者、かさぶたのある者、こうがんのつぶれた者などである。

or crook-backed, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or is scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken;

すべて祭司アロンの子孫のうち、身にきずのある者は近寄って、主の火祭をささげてはならない。彼は身にきずがあるから、神の食物をささげるために、近寄ってはならない。

no man of the seed of Aaron the priest, that hath a blemish, shall come nigh to offer the offerings of Jehovah made by fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God.

彼は神の食物の聖なる物も、最も聖なる物も食べることができる。

He shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy:

ただし、垂幕に近づいてはならない。また祭壇に近寄ってはならない。身にきずがあるからである。彼はわたしの聖所を汚してはならない。わたしはそれを聖別する主である』」。

only he shall not go in unto the veil, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he profane not my sanctuaries: for I am Jehovah who sanctifieth them.

モーセはこれをアロンとその子ら及びイスラエルのすべての人々に告げた。

So Moses spake unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel.

第22章

主はまたモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「アロンとその子たちに告げて、イスラエルの人々の聖なる物、すなわち、彼らがわたしにささげる物をみだりに用いて、わたしの聖なる名を汚さないようにさせなさい。わたしは主である。

Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, which they hallow unto me, and that they profane not my holy name: I am Jehovah.

彼らに言いなさい、『あなたがたの代々の子孫のうち、だれでも、イスラエルの人々が主にささげる聖なる物に、汚れた身をもって近づく者があれば、その人はわたしの前から断たれるであろう。わたしは主である。

Say unto them, Whosoever he be of all your seed throughout your generations, that approacheth unto the holy things, which the children of Israel hallow unto Jehovah, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from before me: I am Jehovah.

アロンの子孫のうち、だれでも、らい病の者、また流出ある者は清くなるまで、聖なる物を食べてはならない。また、すべて死体によって汚れた物に触れた者、精を漏らした者、

What man soever of the seed of Aaron is a leper, or hath an issue; he shall not eat of the holy things, until he be clean. And whoso toucheth anything that is unclean by the dead, or a man whose seed goeth from him;

または、すべて人を汚す這うものに触れた者、または、どのような汚れにせよ、人を汚れさせる人に触れた者、

or whosoever toucheth any creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness, whatsoever uncleanness he hath;

このようなものに触れた人は夕まで汚れるであろう。彼はその身を水にすすがないならば、聖なる物を食べてはならない。

the soul that toucheth any such shall be unclean until the even, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he bathe his flesh in water.

日が入れば、彼は清くなるであろう。そののち、聖なる物を食べることができる。それは彼の食物だからである。

And when the sun is down, he shall be clean; and afterward he shall eat of the holy things, because it is his bread.

自然に死んだもの、または裂き殺されたものを食べ、それによって身を汚してはならない。わたしは主である。

That which dieth of itself, or is torn of beasts, he shall not eat, to defile himself therewith: I am Jehovah.

それゆえに、彼らはわたしの言いつけを守らなければならない。彼らがこれを汚し、これがために、罪を獲て死ぬことのないためである。わたしは彼らを聖別する主である。

They shall therefore keep my charge, lest they bear sin for it, and die therein, if they profane it: I am Jehovah who sanctifieth them.

すべて一般の人は聖なる物を食べてはならない。祭司の同居人や雇人も聖なる物を食べてはならない。

There shall no stranger eat of the holy thing: a sojourner of the priest`s, or a hired servant, shall not eat of the holy thing.

しかし、祭司が金をもって人を買った時は、その者はこれを食べることができる。またその家に生れた者も祭司の食物を食べることができる。

But if a priest buy any soul, the purchase of his money, he shall eat of it; and such as are born in his house, they shall eat of his bread.

もし祭司の娘が一般の人にとついだならば、彼女は聖なる供え物を食べてはならない。

And if a priest`s daughter be married unto a stranger, she shall not eat of the heave-offering of the holy things.

もし祭司の娘が、寡婦となり、または出されて、子供もなく、その父の家に帰り、娘の時のようであれば、その父の食物を食べることができる。ただし、一般の人は、すべてこれを食べてはならない。

But if a priest`s daughter be a widow, or divorced, and have no child, and be returned unto her father`s house, as in her youth, she shall eat of her father`s bread: but there shall no stranger eat thereof.

もし人があやまって聖なる物を食べるならば、それにその五分の一を加え、聖なる物としてこれを祭司に渡さなければならない。

And if a man eat of the holy thing unwittingly, then he shall put the fifth part thereof unto it, and shall give unto the priest the holy thing.

祭司はイスラエルの人々が、主にささげる聖なる物を汚してはならない。

And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer unto Jehovah,

人々が聖なる物を食べて、その罪のとがを負わないようにさせなければならない。わたしは彼らを聖別する主である』」。

and [so] cause them to bear the iniquity that bringeth guilt, when they eat their holy things: for I am Jehovah who sanctifieth them.

主はまたモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「アロンとその子たち、およびイスラエルのすべての人々に言いなさい、『イスラエルの家の者、またはイスラエルにおる他国人のうちのだれでも、誓願の供え物、または自発の供え物を燔祭として主にささげようとするならば、

Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them, Whosoever he be of the house of Israel, or of the sojourners in Israel, that offereth his oblation, whether it be any of their vows, or any of their freewill-offerings, which they offer unto Jehovah for a burnt-offering;

あなたがたの受け入れられるように牛、羊、あるいはやぎの雄の全きものをささげなければならない。

that ye may be accepted, [ye shall offer] a male without blemish, of the bullocks, of the sheep, or of the goats.

すべてきずのあるものはささげてはならない。それはあなたがたのために、受け入れられないからである。

But whatsoever hath a blemish, that shall ye not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you.

もし人が特別の誓願をなすため、または自発の供え物のために、牛または羊を酬恩祭の犠牲として、主にささげようとするならば、その受け入れられるために、それは全きものでなければならない。それには、どんなきずもあってはならない。

And whosoever offereth a sacrifice of peace-offerings unto Jehovah to accomplish a vow, or for a freewill-offering, of the herd or of the flock, it shall be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish therein.

すなわち獣のうちで、めくらのもの、折れた所のあるもの、切り取った所のあるもの、うみの出る者、かいせんの者、かさぶたのある者など、あなたがたは、このようなものを主にささげてはならない。また祭壇の上に、これらを火祭として、主にささげてはならない。

Blind, or broken, or maimed, or having a wen, or scurvy, or scabbed, ye shall not offer these unto Jehovah, nor make an offering by fire of them upon the altar unto Jehovah.

牛あるいは羊で、足の長すぎる者、または短すぎる者は、あなたがたが自発の供え物とすることはできるが、誓願の供え物としては受け入れられないであろう。

Either a bullock or a lamb that hath anything superfluous or lacking in his parts, that mayest thou offer for a freewill-offering; but for a vow it shall not be accepted.

あなたがたは、こうがんの破れたもの、つぶれたもの、裂けたもの、または切り取られたものを、主にささげてはならない。またあなたがたの国のうちで、このようなことを、行ってはならない。

That which hath its stones bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut, ye shall not offer unto Jehovah; neither shall ye do [thus] in your land.

また、あなたがたは異邦人の手からこれらのものを受けて、あなたがたの神の食物としてささげてはならない。これらのものには欠点があり、きずがあって、あなたがたのために受け入れられないからである』」。

Neither from the hand of a foreigner shall ye offer the bread of your God of any of these; because their corruption is in them, there is a blemish in them: they shall not be accepted for you.

主はまたモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「牛、または羊、またはやぎが生れたならば、これを七日の間その母親のもとに置かなければならない。八日目からは主にささげる火祭として受け入れられるであろう。

When a bullock, or a sheep, or a goat, is brought forth, then it shall be seven days under the dam; and from the eighth day and thenceforth it shall be accepted for the oblation of an offering made by fire unto Jehovah.

あなたがたは雌牛または雌羊をその子と同じ日にほふってはならない。

And whether it be cow or ewe, ye shall not kill it and its young both in one day.

あなたがたが感謝の犠牲を主にささげるときは、あなたがたの受け入れられるようにささげなければならない。

And when ye sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto Jehovah, ye shall sacrifice it that ye may be accepted.

これはその日のうちに食べなければならない。明くる日まで残しておいてはならない。わたしは主である。

On the same day it shall be eaten; ye shall leave none of it until the morning: I am Jehovah.

あなたがたはわたしの戒めを守り、これを行わなければならない。わたしは主である。

Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am Jehovah.

あなたがたはわたしの聖なる名を汚してはならない。かえって、わたしはイスラエルの人々のうちに聖とされなければならない。わたしはあなたがたを聖別する主である。

And ye shall not profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am Jehovah who halloweth you,

あなたがたの神となるために、あなたがたをエジプトの国から導き出した者である。わたしは主である」。

who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am Jehovah.

第23章

主はまたモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「イスラエルの人々に言いなさい、『あなたがたが、ふれ示して聖会とすべき主の定めの祭は次のとおりである。これらはわたしの定めの祭である。

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, The set feasts of Jehovah, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my set feasts.

六日の間は仕事をしなければならない。第七日は全き休みの安息日であり、聖会である。どのような仕事もしてはならない。これはあなたがたのすべてのすまいにおいて守るべき主の安息日である。

Six days shall work be done: but on the seventh day is a sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation; ye shall do no manner of work: it is a sabbath unto Jehovah in all your dwellings.

その時々に、あなたがたが、ふれ示すべき主の定めの祭なる聖会は次のとおりである。

These are the set feasts of Jehovah, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their appointed season.

正月の十四日の夕は主の過越の祭である。

In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, is Jehovah`s passover.

またその月の十五日は主の種入れぬパンの祭である。あなたがたは七日の間は種入れぬパンを食べなければならない。

And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto Jehovah: seven days ye shall eat unleavened bread.

その初めの日に聖会を開かなければならない。どんな労働もしてはならない。

In the first day ye shall have a holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work.

あなたがたは七日の間、主に火祭をささげなければならない。第七日には、また聖会を開き、どのような労働もしてはならない』」。

But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Jehovah seven days: in the seventh day is a holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work.

主はまたモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「イスラエルの人々に言いなさい、『わたしが与える地にはいって穀物を刈り入れるとき、あなたがたは穀物の初穂の束を、祭司のところへ携えてこなければならない。

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye are come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring the sheaf of the first-fruits of your harvest unto the priest:

彼はあなたがたの受け入れられるように、その束を主の前に揺り動かすであろう。すなわち、祭司は安息日の翌日に、これを揺り動かすであろう。

and he shall wave the sheaf before Jehovah, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.

またその束を揺り動かす日に、一歳の雄の小羊の全きものを燔祭として主にささげなければならない。

And in the day when ye wave the sheaf, ye shall offer a he-lamb without blemish a year old for a burnt-offering unto Jehovah.

その素祭には油を混ぜた麦粉十分の二エパを用い、これを主にささげて火祭とし、香ばしいかおりとしなければならない。またその灌祭には、ぶどう酒一ヒンの四分の一を用いなければならない。

And the meal-offering thereof shall be two tenth parts [of an ephah] of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire unto Jehovah for a sweet savor; and the drink-offering thereof shall be of wine, the fourth part of a hin.

あなたがたの神にこの供え物をささげるその日まで、あなたがたはパンも、焼麦も、新穀も食べてはならない。これはあなたがたのすべてのすまいにおいて、代々ながく守るべき定めである。

And ye shall eat neither bread, nor parched grain, nor fresh ears, until this selfsame day, until ye have brought the oblation of your God: it is a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

また安息日の翌日、すなわち、揺祭の束をささげた日から満七週を数えなければならない。

And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave-offering; seven sabbaths shall there be complete:

すなわち、第七の安息日の翌日までに、五十日を数えて、新穀の素祭を主にささげなければならない。

even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meal-offering unto Jehovah.

またあなたがたのすまいから、十分の二エパの麦粉に種を入れて焼いたパン二個を携えてきて揺祭としなければならない。これは初穂として主にささげるものである。

Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave-loaves of two tenth parts [of an ephah]: they shall be of fine flour, they shall be baken with leaven, for first-fruits unto Jehovah.

あなたがたはまたパンのほかに、一歳の全き小羊七頭と、若き雄牛一頭と、雄羊二頭をささげなければならない。すなわち、これらをその素祭および灌祭とともに主にささげて燔祭としなければならない。これは火祭であって、主に香ばしいかおりとなるであろう。

And ye shall present with the bread seven lambs without blemish a year old, and one young bullock, and two rams: they shall be a burnt-offering unto Jehovah, with their meal-offering, and their drink-offerings, even an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto Jehovah.

また雄やぎ一頭を罪祭としてささげ、一歳の小羊二頭を酬恩祭の犠牲としてささげなければならない。

And ye shall offer one he-goat for a sin-offering, and two he-lambs a year old for a sacrifice of peace-offerings.

そして祭司はその初穂のパンと共に、この二頭の小羊を主の前に揺祭として揺り動かさなければならない。これらは主にささげる聖なる物であって、祭司に帰するであろう。

And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the first-fruits for a wave-offering before Jehovah, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to Jehovah for the priest.

And ye shall make proclamation on the selfsame day; there shall be a holy convocation unto you; ye shall do no servile work: it is a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.

あなたがたの地の穀物を刈り入れるときは、その刈入れにあたって、畑のすみずみまで刈りつくしてはならない。またあなたの穀物の落ち穂を拾ってはならない。貧しい者と寄留者のために、それを残しておかなければならない。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である』」。

And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them for the poor, and for the sojourner: I am Jehovah your God.

主はまたモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「イスラエルの人々に言いなさい、『七月一日をあなたがたの安息の日とし、ラッパを吹き鳴らして記念する聖会としなければならない。

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, shall be a solemn rest unto you, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.

どのような労働もしてはならない。しかし、主に火祭をささげなければならない』」。

Ye shall do no servile work; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Jehovah.

主はまたモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「特にその七月の十日は贖罪の日である。あなたがたは聖会を開き、身を悩まし、主に火祭をささげなければならない。

Howbeit on the tenth day of this seventh month is the day of atonement: it shall be a holy convocation unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Jehovah.

その日には、どのような仕事もしてはならない。これはあなたがたのために、あなたがたの神、主の前にあがないをなすべき贖罪の日だからである。

And ye shall do no manner of work in that same day; for it is a day of atonement, to make atonement for you before Jehovah your God.

すべてその日に身を悩まさない者は、民のうちから断たれるであろう。

For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day; he shall be cut off from his people.

またすべてその日にどのような仕事をしても、その人をわたしは民のうちから滅ぼし去るであろう。

And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any manner of work in that same day, that soul will I destroy from among his people.

あなたがたはどのような仕事もしてはならない。これはあなたがたのすべてのすまいにおいて、代々ながく守るべき定めである。

Ye shall do no manner of work: it is a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

これはあなたがたの全き休みの安息日である。あなたがたは身を悩まさなければならない。またその月の九日の夕には、その夕から次の夕まで安息を守らなければならない」。

It shall be unto you a sabbath of solemn rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye keep your sabbath.

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto Jehovah.

初めの日に聖会を開かなければならない。どのような労働もしてはならない。

On the first day shall be a holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work.

また七日の間、主に火祭をささげなければならない。八日目には聖会を開き、主に火祭をささげなければならない。これは聖会の日であるから、どのような労働もしてはならない。

Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Jehovah: on the eighth day shall be a holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Jehovah: it is a solemn assembly; ye shall do no servile work.

これらは主の定めの祭であって、あなたがたがふれ示して聖会とし、主に火祭すなわち、燔祭、素祭、犠牲および灌祭を、そのささぐべき日にささげなければならない。

These are the set feasts of Jehovah, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto Jehovah, a burnt-offering, and a meal-offering, a sacrifice, and drink-offerings, each on its own day;

このほかに主の安息日があり、またほかに、あなたがたのささげ物があり、またほかに、あなたがたのもろもろの誓願の供え物があり、またそのほかに、あなたがたのもろもろの自発の供え物がある。これらは皆あなたがたが主にささげるものである。

besides the sabbaths of Jehovah, and besides your gifts, and besides all your vows, and besides all your freewill-offerings, which ye give unto Jehovah.

あなたがたが、地の産物を集め終ったときは、七月の十五日から七日のあいだ、主の祭を守らなければならない。すなわち、初めの日にも安息をし、八日目にも安息をしなければならない。

Howbeit on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruits of the land, ye shall keep the feast of Jehovah seven days: on the first day shall be a solemn rest, and on the eighth day shall be a solemn rest.

初めの日に、美しい木の実と、なつめやしの枝と、茂った木の枝と、谷のはこやなぎの枝を取って、七日の間あなたがたの神、主の前に楽しまなければならない。

And ye shall take you on the first day the fruit of goodly trees, branches of palm-trees, and boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before Jehovah your God seven days.

あなたがたは年に七日の間、主にこの祭を守らなければならない。これはあなたがたの代々ながく守るべき定めであって、七月にこれを守らなければならない。

And ye shall keep it a feast unto Jehovah seven days in the year: it is a statute for ever throughout your generations; ye shall keep it in the seventh month.

あなたがたは七日の間、仮庵に住み、イスラエルで生れた者はみな仮庵に住まなければならない。

Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are home-born in Israel shall dwell in booths;

これはわたしがイスラエルの人々をエジプトの国から導き出したとき、彼らを仮庵に住まわせた事を、あなたがたの代々の子孫に知らせるためである。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である』」。

that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am Jehovah your God.

モーセは主の定めの祭をイスラエルの人々に告げた。

And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the set feasts of Jehovah.

第24章

主はまたモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「イスラエルの人々に命じて、オリブを砕いて採った純粋の油を、ともしびのためにあなたの所へ持ってこさせ、絶えずともしびをともさせなさい。

Command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure olive oil beaten for the light, to cause a lamp to burn continually.

すなわち、アロンは会見の幕屋のうちのあかしの垂幕の外で、夕から朝まで絶えず、そのともしびを主の前に整えなければならない。これはあなたがたが代々ながく守るべき定めである。

Without the veil of the testimony, in the tent of meeting, shall Aaron keep it in order from evening to morning before Jehovah continually: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations.

彼は純金の燭台の上に、そのともしびを絶えず主の前に整えなければならない。

He shall keep in order the lamps upon the pure candlestick before Jehovah continually.

あなたは麦粉を取り、それで十二個の菓子を焼かなければならない。菓子一個に麦粉十分の二エパを用いなければならない。

And thou shalt take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof: two tenth parts [of an ephah] shall be in one cake.

そしてそれを主の前の純金の机の上に、ひと重ね六個ずつ、ふた重ねにして置かなければならない。

And thou shalt set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure table before Jehovah.

あなたはまた、おのおのの重ねの上に、純粋の乳香を置いて、そのパンの記念の分とし、主にささげて火祭としなければならない。

And thou shalt put pure frankincense upon each row, that it may be to the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire unto Jehovah.

安息日ごとに絶えず、これを主の前に整えなければならない。これはイスラエルの人々のささぐべきものであって、永遠の契約である。

Every sabbath day he shall set it in order before Jehovah continually; it is on the behalf of the children of Israel, an everlasting covenant.

これはアロンとその子たちに帰する。彼らはこれを聖なる所で食べなければならない。これはいと聖なる物であって、主の火祭のうち彼に帰すべき永久の分である」。

And it shall be for Aaron and his sons; and they shall eat it in a holy place: for it is most holy unto him of the offerings of Jehovah made by fire by a perpetual statute.

イスラエルの女を母とし、エジプトびとを父とするひとりの者が、イスラエルの人々のうちに出てきて、そのイスラエルの女の産んだ子と、ひとりのイスラエルびとが宿営の中で争いをし、

And the son of an Israelitish woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the children of Israel; and the son of the Israelitish woman and a man of Israel strove together in the camp:

そのイスラエルの女の産んだ子が主の名を汚して、のろったので、人々は彼をモーセのもとに連れてきた。その母はダンの部族のデブリの娘で、名をシロミテといった。

and the son of the Israelitish woman blasphemed the Name, and cursed; and they brought him unto Moses. And his mother`s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.

人々は彼を閉じ込めて置いて、主の示しを受けるのを待っていた。

And they put him in ward, that it might be declared unto them at the mouth of Jehovah.

時に主はモーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

「あの、のろいごとを言った者を宿営の外に引き出し、それを聞いた者に、みな手を彼の頭に置かせ、全会衆に彼を石で撃たせなさい。

Bring forth him that hath cursed without the camp; and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him.

あなたはまたイスラエルの人々に言いなさい、『だれでも、その神をのろう者は、その罪を負わなければならない。

And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Whosoever curseth his God shall bear his sin.

主の名を汚す者は必ず殺されるであろう。全会衆は必ず彼を石で撃たなければならない。他国の者でも、この国に生れた者でも、主の名を汚すときは殺されなければならない。

And he that blasphemeth the name of Jehovah, he shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the sojourner, as the home-born, when he blasphemeth the name [of Jehovah], shall be put to death.

だれでも、人を撃ち殺した者は、必ず殺されなければならない。

And he that smiteth any man mortally shall surely be put to death.

獣を撃ち殺した者は、獣をもってその獣を償わなければならない。

And he that smiteth a beast mortally shall make it good, life for life.

もし人が隣人に傷を負わせるなら、その人は自分がしたように自分にされなければならない。

And if a man cause a blemish in his neighbor; as he hath done, so shall it be done to him:

すなわち、骨折には骨折、目には目、歯には歯をもって、人に傷を負わせたように、自分にもされなければならない。

breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be rendered unto him.

獣を撃ち殺した者はそれを償い、人を撃ち殺した者は殺されなければならない。

And he that killeth a beast shall make it good: and he that killeth a man shall be put to death.

他国の者にも、この国に生れた者にも、あなたがたは同一のおきてを用いなければならない。わたしはあなたがたの神、主だからである』」。

Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the sojourner, as for the home-born: for I am Jehovah your God.

モーセがイスラエルの人々に向かい、「あの、のろいごとを言った者を宿営の外に引き出し、石で撃て」と命じたので、イスラエルの人々は、主がモーセに命じられたようにした。

And Moses spake to the children of Israel; and they brought forth him that had cursed out of the camp, and stoned him with stones. And the children of Israel did as Jehovah commanded Moses.

第25章

主はシナイ山で、モーセに言われた、

And Jehovah spake unto Moses in mount Sinai, saying,

「イスラエルの人々に言いなさい、『わたしが与える地に、あなたがたがはいったときは、その地にも、主に向かって安息を守らせなければならない。

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath unto Jehovah.

六年の間あなたは畑に種をまき、また六年の間ぶどう畑の枝を刈り込み、その実を集めることができる。

Six years thou shalt sow thy field, and six years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and gather in the fruits thereof;

しかし、七年目には、地に全き休みの安息を与えなければならない。これは、主に向かって守る安息である。あなたは畑に種をまいてはならない。また、ぶどう畑の枝を刈り込んではならない。

but in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath unto Jehovah: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.

あなたの穀物の自然に生えたものは刈り取ってはならない。また、あなたのぶどうの枝の手入れをしないで結んだ実は摘んではならない。これは地のために全き休みの年だからである。

That which groweth of itself of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, and the grapes of thy undressed vine thou shalt not gather: it shall be a year of solemn rest for the land.

安息の年の地の産物は、あなたがたの食物となるであろう。すなわち、あなたと、男女の奴隷と、雇人と、あなたの所に宿っている他国人と、

And the sabbath of the land shall be for food for you; for thee, and for thy servant and for thy maid, and for thy hired servant and for thy stranger, who sojourn with thee.

あなたの家畜と、あなたの国のうちの獣とのために、その産物はみな、食物となるであろう。

And for thy cattle, and for the beasts that are in thy land, shall all the increase thereof be for food.

あなたは安息の年を七たび、すなわち、七年を七回数えなければならない。安息の年七たびの年数は四十九年である。

And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and there shall be unto thee the days of seven sabbaths of years, even forty and nine years.

七月の十日にあなたはラッパの音を響き渡らせなければならない。すなわち、贖罪の日にあなたがたは全国にラッパを響き渡らせなければならない。

Then shalt thou send abroad the loud trumpet on the tenth day of the seventh month; in the day of atonement shall ye send abroad the trumpet throughout all your land.

その五十年目を聖別して、国中のすべての住民に自由をふれ示さなければならない。この年はあなたがたにはヨベルの年であって、あなたがたは、おのおのその所有の地に帰り、おのおのその家族に帰らなければならない。

And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubilee unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.

その五十年目はあなたがたにはヨベルの年である。種をまいてはならない。また自然に生えたものは刈り取ってはならない。手入れをしないで結んだぶどうの実は摘んではならない。

A jubilee shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather [the grapes] in it of the undressed vines.

この年はヨベルの年であって、あなたがたに聖であるからである。あなたがたは畑に自然にできた物を食べなければならない。

For it is a jubilee; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field.

このヨベルの年には、おのおのその所有の地に帰らなければならない。

In this year of jubilee ye shall return every man unto his possession.

あなたの隣人に物を売り、また隣人から物を買うときは、互に欺いてはならない。

And if thou sell aught unto thy neighbor, or buy of thy neighbor`s hand, ye shall not wrong one another.

ヨベルの後の年の数にしたがって、あなたは隣人から買い、彼もまた畑の産物の年数にしたがって、あなたに売らなければならない。

According to the number of years after the jubilee thou shalt buy of thy neighbor, [and] according unto the number of years of the crops he shall sell unto thee.

年の数の多い時は、その値を増し、年の数の少ない時は、値を減らさなければならない。彼があなたに売るのは産物の数だからである。

According to the multitude of the years thou shalt increase the price thereof, and according to the fewness of the years thou shalt diminish the price of it; for the number of the crops doth he sell unto thee.

And ye shall not wrong one another; but thou shalt fear thy God: for I am Jehovah your God.

あなたがたはわたしの定めを行い、またわたしのおきてを守って、これを行わなければならない。そうすれば、あなたがたは安らかにその地に住むことができるであろう。

Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep mine ordinances and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety.

地はその実を結び、あなたがたは飽きるまでそれを食べ、安らかにそこに住むことができるであろう。

And the land shall yield its fruit, and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety.

「七年目に種をまくことができず、また産物を集めることができないならば、わたしたちは何を食べようか」とあなたがたは言うのか。

And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? Behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase;

わたしは命じて六年目に、あなたがたに祝福をくだし、三か年分の産物を実らせるであろう。

then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for the three years.

あなたがたは八年目に種をまく時には、なお古い産物を食べているであろう。九年目にその産物のできるまで、あなたがたは古いものを食べることができるであろう。

And ye shall sow the eighth year, and eat of the fruits, the old store; until the ninth year, until its fruits come in, ye shall eat the old store.

地は永代には売ってはならない。地はわたしのものだからである。あなたがたはわたしと共にいる寄留者、また旅びとである。

And the land shall not be sold in perpetuity; for the land is mine: for ye are strangers and sojourners with me.

あなたがたの所有としたどのような土地でも、その土地の買いもどしに応じなければならない。

And in all the land of your possession ye shall grant a redemption for the land.

あなたの兄弟が落ちぶれてその所有の地を売った時は、彼の近親者がきて、兄弟の売ったものを買いもどさなければならない。

If thy brother be waxed poor, and sell some of his possession, then shall his kinsman that is next unto him come, and shall redeem that which his brother hath sold.

たといその人に、それを買いもどしてくれる人がいなくても、その人が富み、自分でそれを買いもどすことができるようになったならば、

And if a man have no one to redeem it, and he be waxed rich and find sufficient to redeem it;

それを売ってからの年を数えて残りの分を買い手に返さなければならない。そうすればその人はその所有の地に帰ることができる。

then let him reckon the years of the sale thereof, and restore the overplus unto the man to whom he sold it; and he shall return unto his possession.

しかし、もしそれを買いもどすことができないならば、その売った物はヨベルの年まで買い主の手にあり、ヨベルにはもどされて、その人はその所有の地に帰ることができるであろう。

But if he be not able to get it back for himself, then that which he hath sold shall remain in the hand of him that hath bought it until the year of jubilee: and in the jubilee it shall go out, and he shall return unto his possession.

人が城壁のある町の住宅を売った時は、売ってから満一年の間は、それを買いもどすことができる。その間は彼に買いもどすことを許さなければならない。

And if a man sell a dwelling-house in a walled city, then he may redeem it within a whole year after it is sold; for a full year shall he have the right of redemption.

And if it be not redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city shall be made sure in perpetuity to him that bought it, throughout his generations: it shall not go out in the jubilee.

But the houses of the villages which have no wall round about them shall be reckoned with the fields of the country: they may be redeemed, and they shall go out in the jubilee.

Nevertheless the cities of the Levites, the houses of the cities of their possession, may the Levites redeem at any time.

And if one of the Levites redeem, then the house that was sold, and the city of his possession, shall go out in the jubilee; for the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession among the children of Israel.

But the field of the suburbs of their cities may not be sold; for it is their perpetual possession.

And if thy brother be waxed poor, and his hand fail with thee; then thou shalt uphold him: [as] a stranger and a sojourner shall he live with thee.

Take thou no interest of him or increase, but fear thy God; that thy brother may live with thee.

Thou shalt not give him thy money upon interest, nor give him thy victuals for increase.

I am Jehovah your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan, [and] to be your God.

And if thy brother be waxed poor with thee, and sell himself unto thee; thou shalt not make him to serve as a bond-servant.

As a hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall be with thee; he shall serve with thee unto the year of jubilee:

then shall he go out from thee, he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return.

For they are my servants, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: they shall not be sold as bondmen.

And as for thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, whom thou shalt have; of the nations that are round about you, of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids.

Moreover of the children of the strangers that sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they have begotten in your land: and they shall be your possession.

And ye shall make them an inheritance for your children after you, to hold for a possession; of them shall ye take your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel ye shall not rule, one over another, with rigor.

And if a stranger or sojourner with thee be waxed rich, and thy brother be waxed poor beside him, and sell himself unto the stranger [or] sojourner with thee, or to the stock of the stranger`s family;

after that he is sold he may be redeemed: one of his brethren may redeem him;

If there be yet many years, according unto them he shall give back the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for.

And if there remain but few years unto the year of jubilee, then he shall reckon with him; according unto his years shall he give back the price of his redemption.

As a servant hired year by year shall he be with him: he shall not rule with rigor over him in thy sight.

And if he be not redeemed by these [means], then he shall go out in the year of jubilee, he, and his children with him.

For unto me the children of Israel are servants; they are my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: I am Jehovah your God.

第26章

Ye shall make you no idols, neither shall ye rear you up a graven image, or a pillar, neither shall ye place any figured stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am Jehovah your God.

あなたがたはわたしの安息日を守り、またわたしの聖所を敬わなければならない。わたしは主である。

Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am Jehovah.

もしあなたがたがわたしの定めに歩み、わたしの戒めを守って、これを行うならば、

If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;

then I will give your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time; and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.

And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will cause evil beasts to cease out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.

And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.

And I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and will establish my covenant with you.

And ye shall eat old store long kept, and ye shall bring forth the old because of the new.

And I will set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you.

わたしはあなたがたのうちに歩み、あなたがたの神となり、あなたがたはわたしの民となるであろう。

And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.

わたしはあなたがたの神、主であって、あなたがたをエジプトの国から導き出して、奴隷の身分から解き放った者である。わたしはあなたがたのくびきの横木を砕いて、まっすぐに立って歩けるようにしたのである。

I am Jehovah your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bars of your yoke, and made you go upright.

But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments;

and if ye shall reject my statutes, and if your soul abhor mine ordinances, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but break my covenant;

I also will do this unto you: I will appoint terror over you, even consumption and fever, that shall consume the eyes, and make the soul to pine away; and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

わたしは顔をあなたがたにむけて攻め、あなたがたは敵の前に撃ちひしがれるであろう。またあなたがたの憎む者があなたがたを治めるであろう。あなたがたは追う者もないのに逃げるであろう。

And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be smitten before your enemies: they that hate you shall rule over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.

And if ye will not yet for these things hearken unto me, then I will chastise you seven times more for your sins.

And I will break the pride of your power: and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass;

and your strength shall be spent in vain; for your land shall not yield its increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruit.

And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me, I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.

And I will send the beast of the field among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your ways shall become desolate.

And if by these things ye will not be reformed unto me, but will walk contrary unto me;

then will I also walk contrary unto you; and I will smite you, even I, seven times for your sins.

And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall execute the vengeance of the covenant; and ye shall be gathered together within your cities: and I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

When I break your staff of bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.

And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me;

then I will walk contrary unto you in wrath; and I also will chastise you seven times for your sins.

And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.

And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your sun-images, and cast your dead bodies upon the bodies of your idols; and my soul shall abhor you.

And I will make your cities a waste, and will bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savor of your sweet odors.

And I will bring the land into desolation; and your enemies that dwell therein shall be astonished at it.

And you will I scatter among the nations, and I will draw out the sword after you: and your land shall be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste.

Then shall the land enjoy its sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate, and ye are in your enemies` land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy its sabbaths.

As long as it lieth desolate it shall have rest, even the rest which it had not in your sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it.

And as for them that are left of you, I will send a faintness into their heart in the lands of their enemies: and the sound of a driven leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as one fleeth from the sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth.

And they shall stumble one upon another, as it were before the sword, when none pursueth: and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies.

And ye shall perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.

And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies` lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them.

I also walked contrary unto them, and brought them into the land of their enemies: if then their uncircumcised heart be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity;

then will I remember my covenant with Jacob; and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.

And yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them; for I am Jehovah their God;

but I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God: I am Jehovah.

These are the statutes and ordinances and laws, which Jehovah made between him and the children of Israel in mount Sinai by Moses.

第27章

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When a man shall accomplish a vow, the persons shall be for Jehovah by thy estimation.

あなたの値積りは、二十歳から六十歳までの男には、その値積りを聖所のシケルに従って銀五十シケルとし、

And thy estimation shall be of the male from twenty years old even unto sixty years old, even thy estimation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary.

女には、その値積りは三十シケルとしなければならない。

And if it be a female, then thy estimation shall be thirty shekels.

また五歳から二十歳までは、男にはその値積りを二十シケルとし、女には十シケルとしなければならない。

And if it be from five years old even unto twenty years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels.

And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy estimation shall be three shekels of silver.

And if it be from sixty years old and upward; if it be a male, then thy estimation shall be fifteen shekels, and for the female ten shekels.

But if he be poorer than thy estimation, then he shall be set before the priest, and the priest shall value him; according to the ability of him that vowed shall the priest value him.

And if it be a beast, whereof men offer an oblation unto Jehovah, all that any man giveth of such unto Jehovah shall be holy.

ほかのものをそれに代用してはならない。良い物を悪い物に、悪い物を良い物に取り換えてはならない。もし家畜と家畜とを取り換えるならば、その物も、それと取り換えた物も共に聖なる物となるであろう。

He shall not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good: and if he shall at all change beast for beast, then both it and that for which it is changed shall be holy.

もしそれが汚れた家畜で、主に供え物としてささげられないものであるならば、その人はその家畜を祭司の前に引いてこなければならない。

And if it be any unclean beast, of which they do not offer an oblation unto Jehovah, then he shall set the beast before the priest;

and the priest shall value it, whether it be good or bad: as thou the priest valuest it, so shall it be.

But if he will indeed redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part thereof unto thy estimation.

And when a man shall sanctify his house to be holy unto Jehovah, then the priest shall estimate it, whether it be good or bad: as the priest shall estimate it, so shall it stand.

And if he that sanctified it will redeem his house, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of thy estimation unto it, and it shall be his.

And if a man shall sanctify unto Jehovah part of the field of his possession, then thy estimation shall be according to the sowing thereof: the sowing of a homer of barley [shall be valued] at fifty shekels of silver.

If he sanctify his field from the year of jubilee, according to thy estimation it shall stand.

But if he sanctify his field after the jubilee, then the priest shall reckon unto him the money according to the years that remain unto the year of jubilee; and an abatement shall be made from thy estimation.

And if he that sanctified the field will indeed redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of thy estimation unto it, and it shall be assured to him.

And if he will not redeem the field, or if he have sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed any more:

but the field, when it goeth out in the jubilee, shall be holy unto Jehovah, as a field devoted; the possession thereof shall be the priest`s.

And if he sanctify unto Jehovah a field which he hath bought, which is not of the field of his possession;

祭司は値積りしてヨベルの年までの金を数えなければならない。その人はその値積りの金をその日に主にささげて、聖なる物としなければならない。

then the priest shall reckon unto him the worth of thy estimation unto the year of jubilee: and he shall give thine estimation in that day, as a holy thing unto Jehovah.

In the year of jubilee the field shall return unto him of whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of the land belongeth.

すべてあなたの値積りは聖所のシケルによってしなければならない。二十ゲラを一シケルとする。

And all thy estimations shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs shall be the shekel.

しかし、家畜のういごは、ういごとしてすでに主のものだから、だれもこれをささげてはならない。牛でも羊でも、それは主のものである。

Only the firstling among beasts, which is made a firstling to Jehovah, no man shall sanctify it; whether it be ox or sheep, it is Jehovah`s.

もし汚れた家畜であるならば、あなたの値積りにその五分の一を加えて、その人はこれをあがなわなければならない。もしあがなわないならば、それを値積りに従って売らなければならない。

And if it be of an unclean beast, then he shall ransom it according to thine estimation, and shall add unto it the fifth part thereof: or if it be not redeemed, then it shall be sold according to thy estimation.

ただし、人が自分の持っているもののうちから奉納物として主にささげたものは、人であっても、家畜であっても、また相続の畑であっても、いっさいこれを売ってはならない。またあがなってはならない。奉納物はすべて主に属するいと聖なる物である。

Notwithstanding, no devoted thing, that a man shall devote unto Jehovah of all that he hath, whether of man or beast, or of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy unto Jehovah.

またすべて人のうちから奉納物としてささげられた人は、あがなってはならない。彼は必ず殺されなければならない。

No one devoted, that shall be devoted from among men, shall be ransomed; he shall surely be put to death.

地の十分の一は地の産物であれ、木の実であれ、すべて主のものであって、主に聖なる物である。

And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is Jehovah`s: it is holy unto Jehovah.

もし人がその十分の一をあがなおうとする時は、それにその五分の一を加えなければならない。

And if a man will redeem aught of his tithe, he shall add unto it the fifth part thereof.

牛または羊の十分の一については、すべて牧者のつえの下を十番目に通るものは、主に聖なる物である。

And all the tithe of the herd or the flock, whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto Jehovah.

その良い悪いを問うてはならない。またそれを取り換えてはならない。もし取り換えたならば、それと、その取り換えたものとは、共に聖なる物となるであろう。それをあがなうことはできない』」。

He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and that for which it is changed shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.

これらは主が、シナイ山で、イスラエルの人々のために、モーセに命じられた戒めである。

These are the commandments, which Jehovah commanded Moses for the children of Israel in mount Sinai.
