If you want to attain a high level of putting in harmony with the infinite, arrange for yourself a place of sensual meditation. You shall place there works of art, paintings, reproductions, tapestries, posters, sculptures, drawings, photos or others seeking to represent love, the infinite and sensuality, this for the pleasure of the eyes; set up for yourself a corner where you can be seated near the ground, on cushions for example, or lying down, on a divan or on a fur, this for the pleasure of touch; you shall burn there agreeable perfumes, this for the pleasure of the nose; you shall put there a tape recorder on which you will have recorded a music that pleases you, this for the pleasure of the ears; you shall also place there trays and bottles filled with foods and beverages that you like, this for the pleasure of the mouth, and have come there one or several beings whom you love, according to your tastes, with whom you feel good and in harmony, and nourish together your senses, open your bodies so that your minds open in love and fraternity.
The chapter's organising thesis: that Raël's life 'had truly been guided' to make him available for the mission — an autobiography read backwards for signs. Note the genre. This is the prepared-prophet topos, familiar from the call narratives of the Hebrew Bible (the child Samuel, Jeremiah known 'before I formed you in the womb'), here turned autobiographical: the witness assembles ordinary childhood scenes into evidence of a destiny only legible in hindsight. The reader should hold it as exactly that — a retrospective reading, not a contemporaneous record.
