Gospel of Mark

The shortest of the canonical Gospels and, on the prevailing scholarly view, the earliest — the source on which Matthew and Luke draw. Cited in the corpus principally for the baptism and temptation accounts (Mark 1), the messianic-secret theme, and the passion narrative.
