Zechariah
Wheel of Heaven Translation
The canon-cited chapters of Zechariah: the golden lampstand, the flying scroll, the woman in the ephah, and the king riding on a donkey
Direct
Established or uncontested across mainstream sources, or a direct description of the project itself.
The MethodZechariah (Hebrew Zekharyah) prophesied in Jerusalem after the return from exile, in a series of night visions explained by an interpreting messenger. This translation covers the three chapters that the Raëlian canon cites:
- Zechariah 4: the golden lampstand and the two olive trees, "the two sons of fresh oil"
- Zechariah 5: the flying scroll, and the woman in the ephah carried "between the earth and the skies"
- Zechariah 9: the oracle against the nations, and the king who comes riding on a donkey
The scroll at 5:2 measures twenty cubits by ten. At 4:10 the speech marks follow the Hebrew: YHWH's word ends after "Zerubbabel", and the messenger's explanation of "the eyes of YHWH" begins. Verses with a note end in a bracketed marker [ ]; select it to open the note.

Editorial history
Review record. All three chapter files carry status: stable (v1.0.0) with a named human reviewer (zarazinsfuss), signed off on 2026-11-01 in the Latter Prophets wave (LP1) of the canon-cited program. The editor report, the reviewer reports in the chapter files and the sign-off package (data-library/zechariah-woh/wave-lp1-signoff-package.md) record every decision.
Selection. Part of the program to translate, as whole chapters, every biblical chapter that the three Raëlian canon books (The Book Which Tells the Truth, Extra-Terrestrials Took Me to Their Planet, Let's Welcome the Extra-Terrestrials) cite. With this release the program is complete: 87 chapters.
Conventions. The prophetic volumes follow the Isaiah conventions: ʾĕlōhîm is "God", ʾereṣ "earth" in cosmic contexts and "land" for territory, divine rûaḥ a lower-case "spirit", tôrâ "teaching", maśśāʾ "oracle", and nəʾum YHWH "declares YHWH". Proper names are in their English forms. The canon's readings appear only in notes headed "Wheel of Heaven reading (reception note, not a translation claim)".
Production. Drafted by Claude Opus 5.5 and taken through the Wheel of Heaven Translation Program pipeline (Translator → Editor → Reviewer → human sign-off). Central glossary 2.84.0–2.90.0; zechariah-woh overlay v1.0.0. Reference translation: ASV (1901). Methodology: Source-Text Translation.
wayyāšoḇ hammalʾāḵ haddōḇēr bî 'And the messenger who talked with me came again' (overlay
hammalakh-haddover-bi-interpreting-messenger-zechariah; centralmalakh-yhwh-messenger): the interpreting messenger of the night visions (1:9 onward), distinct from the malʾaḵ YHWH of 1:11-12 and 3:1-6. ASV has 'the angel that talked with me'. wayəʿîrēnî kəʾîš ʾăšer-yēʿôr miššənāṯô 'and woke me, like a man who is woken out of his sleep': the prophet is roused as if from sleep. Chapter conventions:house-conventions-latter-prophets. No ASV edition of Zechariah is hosted in the library; the printed ASV (1901) was the comparison text.
