Oomoto Shin'yu (Divine Revelations)
Wheel of Heaven Translation
Deguchi Nao's founding oracles — the Oomoto pilot of the Translation Program
Planned Wheel of Heaven Translation of selections from the Oomoto Shin'yu (大本神諭, Divine Revelations of Oomoto) from the Japanese. Initial scope: the first fude of Meiji 25 (1892) — the founding oracle of the 三千世界 (three-thousand worlds) plum-blossom opening and the world's rebuilding and renewal (立替へ立直し), with Ushitora no Konjin as the banished and returning kami.
Divine Revelations
2
It opens with the plum and is governed with the pine; the age of the divine land has come to be.

4
The foreign countries are a world of beasts, where the strong take all — lands of nothing but devils.

6
Deceived by foreigners, plucked bare down to the hairs of the backside, and yet still not awake — it has become a world of darkness.

Gaikokujin ni bakasarete, shiri no ke made nukarete oritemo, imada me ga samen kuragari no yo ni narite oru zo yo.
7
At this rate the country cannot stand, so the kami will appear openly and carry out the reconstruction and renewal of the three-thousand worlds.

"In Tōkyō the design; distributing the divine pillars to the many lands — Suruga, Mino, Owari, Yamato, Tamashiba — Okayama": Tenri, Konkō, Kurozumi, and Myōrei run on ahead as forerunners, and at the last Ushitora no Konjin appears to carry out the world's reconstruction.

17
As for the three-thousand worlds, this is a kami to whom there is not one thing unknown; so when you grow forlorn, come out to the Ōmoto at Ayabe, and if you let (the kami) tell you, everything in the world will be seen at a single glance — (the kami) will bestow divine virtue upon you.

18
When it comes to the upper (the kami / the high), it will not do for only the top to prosper in every corner; unless high and low are made equal, the world will not be governed.

Kami to nareba, sumizumi ue bakari yokutemo ikenu, jōge sorowaneba yo wa osamaran zo yo.

With Western dress (Western ways) it cannot be governed; making high and low equal and setting the people at ease, (the kami) will make an age of the divine land that will not collapse to the last generation.

43
This design must not be understood too soon, yet it will not do to leave it un-understood, and because it is not understood, no change of heart can be made. It is the reconstruction of the world, a design that comes but once to the last generation; so unless you cast away all learning and wit entirely and turn back to the heart of a newborn babe, you cannot get your bearings — it is a difficult design.

53
When it has mostly spread abroad, the kami of every land and the guardian deities will be gathered to Ayabe and each assigned its service; for this is the noble root of the world, the origin of the world, the Takamagahara of the Dragon-Gate Hall — so whatever is undertaken without the sanction of the Ōmoto at Ayabe will, nine parts nine rin, be overturned.

Because it concerns the whole world, clarity is slow to come, and Nao's mortification and regret are as hot iron pressed to her breast; not one soul understands now, nor is there any to lend her strength and help — yet even so, because the design has been laid over the world, little by little it will come to be understood.

Machigai wa nai zo yo.
Three technical terms open the oracle. Ushitora no Konjin — the Konjin (a calendrical, direction-taboo kami traditionally feared) of the ushitora quarter, the northeast, the ox-tiger direction (丑寅) — is Ōmoto's central theonym; the WoH translation retains the romanized proper name with a gloss rather than descriptivizing it ('the Golden Deity of the Northeast'), because it names a specific being whom the text goes on to identify with the primordial Kunitokotachi-no-Mikoto (1:52). 三千世界 sanzen sekai, 'the three-thousand worlds', is the Buddhist trichiliocosm (Skt. trisāhasra-mahāsāhasra-lokadhātu) taken into Ōmoto cosmology for the whole manifest universe; it is rendered literally rather than naturalized to 'the whole universe' so the Buddhist register stays visible. The plum-blossom opening (梅の花 ume) is the recurring Ōmoto emblem of the new age, paired with the pine (松 matsu) of its governance at 1:2.
The printed transcription reads 三ぜん…一同 where the reikaimonogatari.net witness reads 三千… 一同 ichidō ('all together, all as one') and 一度 ichido ('at one stroke, at one time') are a real sense difference; the WoH English follows the printed 一同 ('all together'), with the witness variant recorded. Machine collation matched only 38/93 verses exactly after furigana-stripping, so a single-edition philological pass remains pending (see editor report). The sentence-final ぞよ zo yo — the archaic, emphatic-assertive marker of divine first-person speech that ends most verses — is carried by a plain English declarative and preserved only in the transliteration.
