Wheel of Heaven Translation
The canon-cited chapters of Numbers: the priests' portions, the serpent of bronze, and the stages of the wilderness journey
Direct
Established or uncontested across mainstream sources, or a direct description of the project itself.
The MethodNumbers (Hebrew Bemidbar, "In the wilderness") follows Israel from Sinai to the plains of Moab. This translation covers the three chapters that the Raëlian canon cites:
- Numbers 18: the charge of the priests and the Levites, and their portions, oblations, firstfruits and tithes
- Numbers 21: Chormah (Hormah), the serpent of bronze, the march around Moab, and the defeat of Sichon (Sihon) and Og
- Numbers 33: the stages of the wilderness journey, and the command to dispossess the land of Canaan
Nəḥōšeṯ is "bronze", not the ASV's "brass", and the notes give the wordplay of nāḥāš "serpent" and nəḥōšeṯ at 21:9. Ḥērem at 21:2–3 is "devote to destruction", so that the place name Chormah can be heard in the verb of its verse. Verses with a note end in a bracketed marker [ ]; select it to open the note.

Editorial history
Review record. All three chapter files carry status: stable (v1.0.0) with a named human reviewer (zarazinsfuss), signed off on 2026-11-01 in the Torah wave (T1) of the canon-cited program. The editor report, the reviewer reports in the chapter files and the sign-off package (data-library/exodus-woh/wave-t1-signoff-package.md) record every decision.
Selection. Part of the program to translate, as whole chapters, every biblical chapter that the three Raëlian canon books (The Book Which Tells the Truth, Extra-Terrestrials Took Me to Their Planet, Let's Welcome the Extra-Terrestrials) cite. With this release the program is complete: 87 chapters.
Conventions. The Torah volumes keep the names of the published Exodus ('Moses', 'Mitsrayim'); other names are transliterated. Šāmayim is "skies" for the physical sky and "heaven(s)" for YHWH's realm. Tôrâ is "law", tərûmâ "oblation", ḥērem "devote(d) to destruction", and the Hishtaphel of ḥwh "bow down". Ketiv/Qere sites translate the Qere and record the Ketiv. The canon's readings appear only in notes headed "Wheel of Heaven reading (reception note, not a translation claim)".
Production. Drafted by Claude Opus 5.5 and taken through the Wheel of Heaven Translation Program pipeline (Translator → Editor → Reviewer → human sign-off). Central glossary 2.84.0–2.90.0; numbers-woh overlay v1.0.0. Reference translation: ASV (1901). Methodology: Source-Text Translation.
ʾattâ ûḇāneyḵā ûḇêṯ-ʾāḇîḵā ʾittāḵ tiśʾû ʾeṯ-ʿăwōn hammiqdāš 'You and your sons and your father's house with you shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary'. nāśāʾ ʿāwōn is to bear the responsibility, and the penalty, for offences against the sanctuary: the priests and Levites answer for any encroachment (Milgrom, Studies in Levitical Terminology, 1970; Milgrom, Numbers, JPS, 1990). The chapter answers the people's fear after the rebellion of Qorach and the plague (17:27-28 MT). Names follow
