2 Kings
Wheel of Heaven Translation
The Raëlian-canon-cited chapters of 2 Kings: the end of the Eliyahu (Elijah) cycle, Elisha's miracles, and the fall of Shomron (Samaria)
Direct
Established or uncontested across mainstream sources, or a direct description of the project itself.
The Method2 Kings continues the history of the two kingdoms from the death of Achazyahu (Ahaziah) to the fall of Jerusalem. This translation covers the four chapters that the Raëlian canon cites:
- 2 Kings 1: Achazyahu, Ba'al-Zevuv (Baal-zebub), and the fire on the captains of fifty
- 2 Kings 2: Eliyahu (Elijah) taken up in the whirlwind to the heavens, the chariot and horses of fire, and Elisha's succession
- 2 Kings 4: Elisha: the widow's oil, the Shunammite's son raised, the pot of stew, and the twenty loaves
- 2 Kings 17: the fall of Shomron (Samaria) and the exile of Yisra'el (Israel)
The Book Which Tells the Truth reads the chariot and horses of fire as a craft of the Elohim taking off. The translation keeps the Hebrew literal: "a chariot of fire and horses of fire", and Eliyahu goes up "in the whirlwind", which is the vehicle in the Hebrew. The canon's reading sits beside the traditional and critical readings in the notes. Verses with a note end in a bracketed marker [ ]; select it to open the note.

Editorial history
Review record. All four chapter files carry status: stable (v1.0.0) with a named human reviewer (zarazinsfuss), signed off on 2026-11-01: chapters 1–2 with 1 Kings 17–19 (the Eliyahu cycle), and chapters 4 and 17 with 1 Kings 6 and 8. Editor reports and sign-off packages are kept in data-library/1-kings-woh/ with the 1 Kings waves.
Selection. Part of the program to translate, as whole chapters, every biblical chapter the three Raëlian canon books cite. The Book Which Tells the Truth (ch. 3) reads these chapters closely: the fire that comes down on the captains of fifty (1), Eliyahu taken up in the whirlwind with the chariot and horses of fire (2), Elisha raising the Shunammite's son and feeding a hundred men with twenty loaves (4), and the worship of all the host of the heavens before the fall of Shomron (17).
Conventions. Shared with 1 Kings: transliterated long-form names with tz (Eliyahu, Achazyahu, Gechazi, Shomron), with the English form in each chapter title; šāmayim "skies" for the physical sky and "heaven(s)" for YHWH's realm, so Eliyahu goes up "to the heavens" (2:1, 11); the Qere translated at every Ketiv/Qere site; Masoretic readings kept at versional cruxes. The canon's readings appear only in notes headed "Wheel of Heaven reading (reception note, not a translation claim)".
Production. Drafted by Claude Opus 5.5 and taken through the Wheel of Heaven Translation Program pipeline (Translator → Editor → Reviewer → human sign-off). Central glossary 2.78.0–2.80.0; 2-kings-woh overlay v1.2.0. Reference translation: ASV (1901). Commentary references: Cogan & Tadmor, II Kings (AB 11, 1988); Montgomery & Gehman (ICC, 1951); Burney (1903); Gray and Sweeney (OTL). Methodology: Source-Text Translation.
Moab's revolt after Ach'av's death is narrated in 2 Kgs 3:4-27 and from the Moabite side on the Mesha Stele (c. 840 BCE), which names Omri and 'his son'. The verse repeats almost verbatim at 3:5.
